On behalf of the organizers, Dialogue Academy, and VISOR (Institute for the Study of Religion, Culture and Society of theVU University in Amsterdam), it is our pleasure to present youthe papers of the International Conference entitled “Mapping theGülen Movement: A Multidimensional Approach”. Tis conference will take place on the 7th of October 2010 in the Felix Meritis inAmsterdam, the Netherlands.Tis one-day conference stimulates the academic analysis by reecting dierent dimensions of the Gülen Movement, which originated inurkey and then expanded throughout the world. Te movementis now socially active in more than a 110 countries. Internationalexperts will discuss this transnational movement from the following  viewpoints: theological, intellectual, nancial, structural, political, gender, and sociocultural. Tis multidimensional approach will provide useful pointers about this loosely organized glocal”movement, which is rooted in the teachings of Islamic scholarM. Fethullah Gülen (b.1941). Gülen is regarded as the founderand inspirer of this global social movement known as the
 Hizme
(Service) Movement or the Volunteers Movement, more popularlyknown as the Gülen Movement.Tis conference will discuss and evaluate the movement’s messageand praxis, and will analyze its organization and accomplishments, including its resonance. By focusing on its seven dimensions, thisinterdisciplinary conference will contribute to a comprehensive view of one of the most widely discussed societal programs in thecontemporary world.
