In this paper, we design a system in which a wearable RF-based guidance system in which a main controller collects ultrasound and GPS signals from sensors attached to sub stations and provide appropriate directions to a blind person.
The raw data for location coordinate where the blind people stands is detect by GPS receiver, processing these data by microcontroller to calculate real coordinate related with current position, provide appropriate directions, and also it provide the new sense to the blind to identify the obstacle and pits present on his way. And voice massage is given through The device consist of an audio chip called APR9600,which is single chip voice recording and playback device having the duration of 60 seconds for messages. We use a RF wireless personal area network (PAN) to connect the sensors because of its low power consumption and built-in security.
And this project focused on identifying the features that should be included in such a device in Order to make it better adapted for the visually impaired community.
