THE ETERNAL PARADISEThe beautiful Kashmir valley looks like a paradise on earth. The valley is so beautiful that you will fall in love with it at the first sight itself. Infect, the charm and magnificence of Kashmir are beyond the scope of mere words. The Kashmir valley region is famous for it picturesque natural beauty and among other things is known for its Dal Lake that reflects the surrounding snow-capped mountain peaks. Set like a jewel in the Indian Sub-continent, The land is abundant withnatural landscapes, dotted with green lush forests, and beautiful green valleyswith a tinge of wildlife and blessings of a pleasant climate. Known for a longtime as Paradise on earth and Venice of the east, the valley has attracted manytravelers and conquerors to its wealthy natural lands and tropical greenery. Surrounded by a ring of mountains and hills, the valley looks like a natural fortress with secluded mountain resorts, sparkling lakes and magnificent flora and fauna. The daywill be spent in complete leisure as you take on to the breathtaking views of the surroundings. In the afternoon we will take you on a short tour of the inlandwaterways onboard a small moving boat known as the Shikara. After a well spend 2hours exploring the lake are we will head back to the boat for our overnight stay. B&D includedDay 02: In Srinagar:After breakfast in the morning we visit the Shankaracharya temple. The drive goes uphill goes through a dense forest. The temple has stood on the hill for morethen a millennium and is said to be the seat of the Great Adi Shankaracharya. Later we will visit the famous Mughal gardens known as Pari Mahal and Cheshma Shahi. The ruined Pari Mahal palace, was built by the erstwhile Mughal dynasty, andis perched on a small hill overlooking the lake and the world famous Royal Springs golf course. We will then visit the Cheshma Shahi springs and the famous Mughal gardens of Nishat and Shalimar. The Nishat and Shalimar gardens were built ona symmetrical plan of a central waterway with fountains dividing a series of gardened terraces . Nishat lies on the shores of the lake and was laid out in 1633. It is the largest of all the Royal gardens . The gardens on either sides of the water course are planted with tall Chinar trees, which you can see at their best in Spring. A couple of kilometers further on is the Shalimar garden built forNur Jahan by her husband , the Mughal Emperor Jahangir . The central black marble pavilion in the Zenana or Ladies' garden is surrounded by water and looks outin four directions . Below in the Diwan -i - Am , the hall of Public Audiencesthe Emperor used to sit on a black marble throne above the water. Afterwards wewill drive back to the houseboat for overnight stay. s / full day trip):We drive today to explore a beautiful secluded mountain resort 87 km north of the valley. Driving through stony river beds and mud villages with a mesmerizing backdrop of the Himalayan range, the route takes us to the green valley of Sonamarg literally known as the golden meadow.
