I have been concerned at times that she just might burnout on the constant diet of horribleness coming out of the Statehouse, but allin all she has held up pretty well. At least until recently. A phone call to herthis week confirms she is suffering from teapartyitis complicated by irritablefreestate syndrome.When I called her, Jackie was counting. With the latest budget adopted shehad decided to count to 10 before she went to work on her Alert. Ten didn’twork so she went to 100 which wasn’t much better. She tried 1,000, then10,000 and when I reached her she seemed to be on her way to recitingeach number in the national debt. Between digits I picked up somethingabout her being a little girl in Berlin and her mothing telling her if you can’tsay anything nice, don’t say anything at all. Then she went into a tiradeabout folks being here for 5 years and telling her husband, whose family hadbeen here since the 1600’s, that if he didn’t like what they were doing inConcord he could always move. They came here to make the state better.Better than what!!While the above may have been laced with some interesting and colorfuladjectives, that was the gist of what she said.
