Marys Parish Office May 4, 2011 Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Mike Lanning Moment of silence to reflect on the presence of the Lord. Opening Prayer: Pat Laughlin Roll Call: Present: Mike Lanning, Ken Kern, Wendy Arth, Father Hummer, Karen Leeth, Mary Ginther, Kathy Senff, Brian Jenkins, Ana Alcorn and Laura Corcoran Excused: Pat Reed, Steve Burkhardt, Kristen Dodd, Chrissy Kessler, Fritz Schafer, Mary Greeno, and Karen Leeth Absent: Mike Hirsch Recognition of Visitors: Joan DAntoni Spiritual Reading: Pat Laughlin read a passage from Isaiah, discussion followed. Reading of the Rule of Pastoral Council Constitution: XI read by Pat Laughlin Approval of April minutes: All was approved Committee Reports: Education committee: Spring play will be held May 12, 2011, 7pm with a dress rehearsal, May 11, 2011 at 12:30pm. The track season has ended; we only have had three weeks due to the bad weather. Junior high trip to Chicago was a great success. We visited Millennium Park, The Willis Tower (formally Sears Tower), China Town, Holy Name Cathedral, Navy Pier, Museum of Science and Industry, and the Federal Bank. We also took an architectural boat tour, drove past President Obamas house, and took in all the sights of Chicago. The trip was financed by the fish fry this year. Thanks to all who helped provide this great opportunity for our students. Confirmation is at Saint Peters on May 24th at 7:00pm. Eighth grade graduation is at Saint Marys on June 1st at 7:00pm.

Spiritual Life: No report Social Concern: The Saint Vincent de Paul Society reports 99 visits, servicing 169 adults and 126 children. They distributed $997.00 for food, $559.54 for utilities, $333.00 for housing, $257.00 for transportation, $157.89 for medical, and $317.63 for other expenses, for a total of $2622.06. They also gave out 11 toiletry items. There was a training held at St. Peters on April 16th. Family Life: Our next reception will be held on May 15th after the 11:00 mass. This will be for all graduating seniors. Come celebrate with us in the Family Life Center with cake and punch. If you would like to help with this or any event throughout the year please contact Karen Leeth. We would love for you to share your time & talents with us. Lazarus Committee: We had 3 funerals the month of April. The committee served luncheons for friends and family of Cathy Evanoff, & Justine Schinkle. Pat would like to thank all the folks who provided extra dishes for these large gatherings. If you would like to help or just provide a dish please contact Pat Reed or myself. Food is always welcome. Pastors Report: Father Hummer would like to thank Family Life for the receptions and contributions to Holy Week. Old Business: Pastoral Council selection will be chaired by Chrissy Kessler. Solicitations for names will be held on May 21st at 5:00 Mass and May 22nd at 8:45 and the 11:00 Mass with 4 new members selected the weekend of Pentecost at the 5 pm Mass. New Business: June meeting will be held on July 27th and will be a cookout.
