INTRODUCTION:
In 1955, two psychologists
Joseph Luft
and
developed a tool whichis used to help people better understand their interpersonal communication, relationships,self-awareness, personal development, group dynamics, team development, understandingand training of team, and inter-group relationships. This tool was named after combiningtheir first name and now known as
JOHARI WINDOW.
Terminology
The two points in which this theory applies are:
‘Self' - oneself, i.e., the person subject to the Johari Window analysis.
'Others' - other people in the team or group.The person is given a list of 55 adjectives and they have to choose 5 or 6 adjectivesthat they think describe their personality.
