RESPONSIBILITIES

All
NSAafliliates
are
responsible
for:
a.
Ensuringthatprotected
information
is not
publicly
disclosed.b.Unlessotherwiseauthorized,
fonuarding
for
review
tothe
DeputyDirector
for
Plans,
Policy
and
Programs
(DDP),
Atur:
chief,
Information
policy
any
information
intended
forpublic
disclosure
which
isor may
be based
onprotected
information
gained
while
associated
with
NSA.

suspected
violationsof
thisregulationto
their
supervisors
and
totheDeputy
Directorfor
Support
Services
(DDS),
Officeof
Security.
19.
The
DDP,Office
of
Policy
will:
a.
Receive
andprocess
within
a
reasonable
time(usually
30days)
all
information
submitted
forreview
with
the
assistance
of
appropriatg

as
necessary.
b.
Provide
informal
guidance
to.all
persons
who
requestassistance
in
prepd.ring
material intended
forpublic
disclosurec.Uponconclusion
of
the
initial
review
and
informal
discussion
with
thesubmitter,
inform
thesubmitter
of
the
initial
decision,
and,
to theextentconsistent
with
nationalsecurity,
thebasis
for
thedecision,
and
of
the
rightto
appeal
the
initial
review
determination.
20.
The
DDP,Offrce
of
Contracting
will
ensure,
incoordination
withthe
Offrce
of
.
General
counsel
(OGC),that
contacts
contain
provisions
necessary
to
require
compliance bycontractors
and
their
employees
with
the
provisionsof this
regulation.

The
DeputyDirector,
NSA(D/DIR)
will
act
as
theappeal
authority
for
DDP review
decisions.
22.
TheGeneial
Counsel
will
provide
counsel
to DDPduring
the
initial
review
and
to
the
InformationRqview
AppealsCommittee
(IRAC)
during
the
appealprocess
to,ensurethelegalsuffrciency
of
anyactions
taken.
