With Google reporting that nearly30% of all mobile queries have some type of local intent, local search is no longer just an alternative to online yellowpages.It’s important to get listed on a range of local search sites & local directories. GooglePlaces makes it easy for people to make decisions about which local colleges tovisit. If your listing doesn’t have a 100% score, you will probably not be listed in thefirst local colleges that Google displays for local results.

What do FE colleges need to do?
Make sure your Google listing has a 100% score
– There are morethan 20 different fields you in your Google Places listing and most collegesdon’t fill them all in
Add service
keywords in your listing description
– List one or two of theareas where your target market lives.
Encourage students & employers to write reviews on your Googleplaces listing
. Often the business with the most reviews is a winner. Onyour publicity, contact form, thank you page, on invoices, on email, say“We’d love it if you gave our college a review on Google/Bing/YahooLocal.”
Make sure you are listed in your local phone book
–Obvious, butGoogle looks to authority sources of data to build their database andcheck for local information. If you’re not listed here, it may affect your ability to rank on Google.
Get listed in the top local directories like

Things to consider 
Use your keywords in your listing title
