Secondary geography NQTs
Overview
This course will bring NQTs together to discuss the successes of the year sofar. It will suggest a number of strategies for developing the geographycurriculum in your school and extending your own pedagogical practice.Some use of new web-based and mobile technologies will be suggested,and the day will also involve some fieldwork activities.Delegates will leave with a pack of useful materials and some ‘homework’,and ongoing support will be provided via a blog.
Aims and outcomes
To update knowledge of latest resources and thinking in secondarygeography.To raise awareness of GA project materials for use in teaching andprofessional development.To practice using a range of web tools to add a new dimension to studentlearning.To meet with other NQT colleagues and develop points of contact forongoing support.To produce a personal ‘action plan’ including important steps to take andprofessional development targets in the early years of your career.
