Third Sunday after Trinity

Many bear doubt to preach the Gospel of Christ in its fullness to sinners; they fear that it will be abused. But nothing else can save sinners, nothing else can keep them with Christ, nothing else can lead them to a new life as the sweet Gospel which is shown them as the heart of the Lord Jesus burns for them in fervent love. Even in our Gospel today Christ is painted in His love for sinners before our eyes. Luke 15:1-10 The Love for Sinners of the Lord Jesus, 1. how He demonstrates it, a. He wishes for their salvation, . He has purchased their salvation for them, . He completes their salvation for them and summons them to it (The rumor of the friendly Savior of sinners had penetrated even to these sinners.1); b. He accepts them when they want to come to Him and hear His call, how they can be loose and free of sins, . He pardons them, . He is pleased with them, . He protects and defends them; 2. why it appeals to us, a. that we draw near to this friendly Savior, stay by Him and not get lost from Him by sins against the conscience, b. that we also take care of the lost, . they rightly seek to bring, . they accept, if they repent, . they defend.
