Summer 2011 Traffic Mitigation Plan
On or around July 24, 2011, traffic patterns at the intersection of Flatbush andFourth Avenues will change. As a result, vehicles will have more time with a greenlight (“green time”) on Flatbush Avenue, and pedestrians will have more time tocross the street when all vehicle movements are stopped. After the changes are made, vehicles traveling northbound on Fourth Avenue willno longer be able to turn left onto Flatbush Avenue, reducing the number of tie-upsat the intersection. Additionally, Pacific Street, between Fourth Avenue andFlatbush Avenue only, will change from one-way westbound to one-way eastbound, toward Flatbush Avenue. To access Flatbush Avenue from Fourth Avenue, cars andtrucks could turn left onto Atlantic Avenue, turn right onto Third Avenue and leftonto Flatbush Avenue; local traffic could turn right onto Pacific Street and left orright onto Flatbush Avenue. No through truck traffic will be permitted on PacificStreet. The video below illustrates those changes:There was a well-attended
