April 11, 2011 Dear Colleagues and Guests: Welcome to North Carolina for the 2011 NAAG Presidential Initiative Summit. Americas Financial Recovery: Protecting Consumers as We Rebuild, has been the year-long theme of the Presidential Initiative which has already produced ideas about how we can best protect consumers while we rebuild our countrys nancial structure. This Summit boasts an array of speakers who play a vital role in our economy. While in Charlotte, Attorneys General will meet with each other and invited guests to discuss solutions for a range of common nancial issues such as consumer scams, relationships with the newly created United States Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection, data sharing among state and federal agencies and emerging consumer protection issues. Charlotte is the second largest banking center in the country and has become a major force in our countrys economy. Its a great place to visit with arts, theatre, attractions, historic neighborhoods and sports. Most of all, you will be impressed with the people who live here. I hope you enjoy our social events at the NASCAR Hall of Fame and the Duke Mansion and feel free to stay and explore Charlotte. Thank you for your participation in this important and timely effort. Enjoy your time in North Carolina. Very truly yours,
