My sisters keeper

Life indeed is a miracle and our life here in on earth is just a temporary assignment. In a wink of an eye we may face death. I already watch the movie for several times but still it hijacks my tear ducts again and again. With the help of the movie I understand more the real condition of the people having cancer and how their illness affects the life of their family. Kate really had a great experiences in her life. She tried to live as a normal young lady , live as happy as possible but despite of the great things she had , the fact is still there that she had a cancer . Her whole family suffers, her siblings experienced emotional problems, and their parents also gave up so many things just to make her live longer. Every aspect of their living was affected. Most babies are accidents. Not me. I was engineered. Born to save my sister's life. this was the opening line spoken by Anna, who was conceived in vitro as a genetic match for her leukemia-stricken older sister Kate . Technically Anna was created to help her sister. Whenever part of Kates body fails then part of Annas body would be offered . Because of this, Anna is unable to lead a normal life, as she must always be there for her sister. Being in that situation Anna really had a hard time living like the other girls of her age, her life is being torn with emotional struggles at a young age. She was very affected with her sisters condition even so with her mother, I really felt sorry for Anna when her mother slapped her face for suing them. Though I understand the point of her mother still this question popped up in my mind Should parents risk one child's health for the sake of another? , I guess parents should not do that, but having their situation in the film the mother really fought for her daughters life even though the life of Anna was at risk, and its because the mother thinks She need to do everything and should not give up and gave her child Kate a better life. In relation to our subject which is Hospice palliative care, the concept of the movie was very applicable to our previous topics. In the movie it was really emphasized how each family member deal with the situation they were facing, especially the scene were the doctor informed

Sara, about the Hospice care . In that particular scene , Sara did not like the idea , she think in doing so its like she already gave up on her daughter. Even though the purpose of hospice care was explained by the Doctor and the health care provider. Also what I really like in the movie was , One can really observed that every member of the family really undergo the process or stages of Grief and every member tries to cope up with different defense mechanism. My Sister's Keeper is one of those films that a viewer would rather not remember, but is a necessary film to be remembered. Why? Because it shows the depressing and harmful effects that cancer has on people and their loved ones--it tears people from the inside-out. The movie is not supposed to be a happy go lucky film, it is supposed to be realistic and is meant to get the viewer to think about the ethical issues involved and also because It had a great story in there for us to learn. It made me think about my life and everything I have. For me the movie was excellent. Though sad it's based on reality!! I like it because it causes a person to think about the here and nowand what is important in life!
