Due to my parental obligations (my daughter had a pizza party for her soccerteam last night) I had a major break in my weekly routine last night. I MISSED CSI!!! Oh the heartbreak, the shame… I’ve been trying to console myself withthe thought that I can catch the episode in reruns, but that thought smacks of ‘sorry son, but we can’t go to Disneyland until next year’. Argh.If missing one TV show is the least of my worries, then I guess that isn’t a bad way to be. I’ll just have to catch Grissom and crew next week. As for thisweek, with both CSI on the brain and All Hallow’s Eve looming just 2 days away, let’s turn to Photoshop and make something cool. This week I’m going to show a cool way to see past the skin… a Photoshop X-Ray if you will. The idea is a twist on something I’m seen both Ben Wilmoreand Colin Smith do in the past… a similar technique applied in a twisted way. Let’s get started. We’ll start with 2 photos from the people at Photos.com.

Duplicate the background layer on the image of the man’s head. Then copy and paste the skull between the two layers in the head/face image. The skull photo is a bit larger than the head photo, so some resizing needs to take place to match the two. First drop the opacity of the top face layer to25% or so..Next, go to the skull layer and resize it using the Transform tools so the eye sockets, cheekbones, teeth and so forth match the general area they should belocated on the head.

The white background on the skull layer isn’t needed, so I’ll shut off the other layers and just select the white area around the skull with the Magic Wandand hit Delete.
