Prank gone Wrong Closes G. W. Carver School


A set of homemade stink bombs exploded in the early morning of 3 Aug at the George Washington Carver High School in Redmond. The bomb ruptured a water main and flooded part of Building Seven. We decided to close the school for a day for repair and to make sure there are no more explosive devices in the building, said Vice-Principle Geoff Hondor. Lone Star is investigating the bombs and are confident that they will locate the perpetrators before long. The repairs ended up taking two days but during that time classes were offered over the Seattle School Network to ensure that the students did not fall behind. Though attendance rates were said to be low.

The Seattle Anti-Gang Task Force (SAGTaF) combining social services and police to combat gang and youth crime at all levels. We cannot let our children and our citizen live in fear, said MetroPlex spokesperson Reginald Hernandez-Jones. Seattle will take the needed steps to prevent its youths from falling prey to these criminal gangs. The first meeting of the SAGTaF is 10 Aug at the Civic Center and the public is welcome to attend.

Urban Brawl: Screamers vs Terminators


The top ranked Oakland Terminators play the number 3 Seattle Screamers as the season passes its halfway point. This game is expected to be a high threat challenge as the Terminators try to keep their winning stream going while the Screamer seek to climb closer to the top. There is a lot of bad blood between these two teams since the Terminators knocked the Screamers out of the finals last year.

The USS California visits Seattle


The nuclear carrier USS California, former flagship of the CFS Navy and now part of the USN, visits Seattle for the first time arrive 8 Aug along with its escort group. Anti-nuclear protesters are expected to try and prevent the California from docking. The Coast Guard expect to be able to contain them without trouble. The California will be docked in Seattle for three days and will be available to the public for tours. Afterward the carrier group will be sailing to Australia for joint exercises with SEATO forces.

Summer Heat Concerts Series Continue


Rebel Entertainments Summer Heat concert series continues across the MetroPlex though Sunday 13 Aug. With over twenty venues across the MetroPlex mixing performances from local groups and keynote shows by top performers such as Gossamer, Five Elements and Jack Entropy. This is the 3rd Annual Summer Heat concert series and it will see over 200 acts performing. Up from 40 in the first year. The festivities cumulate in a day-long televised free concert in the downtown park.

Metahuman March Successful


The metahumans rights march ended at the Mayors offices after winding through downtown. The speeches and presentations were broadcast internationally and included celebrities and politicans. Mothers for Metahumans, the Orc Rights Coalition and many other groups will be represented. Organizers and the media estimated that 52,000 people participated in the march which was the capstone event of the Metahuman Rights Festival.
