This link is to the most recent Motion filed to add Marin County as a named Protestant. It includes as Attachment 1 the entire Protest as amended to add Marin County. Since this Protest was filed, the City of Ross and the Marin Association of Realtors have Motioned to Join.

In California, 9 Counties, and 32 towns and cities have opposed Smart Meter installation by passing Resolutions, Moratoriums, and Ordinances.
Of those, 4 Counties (Marin County, Lake County, Mendocino County, Santa-Cruz County) and 7 towns and cities (Fairfax, Seaside, Watsonville, Capitola, Ross, Willits, and Rio Dell) have passed Ordinances banning the installation by law.

The County of Marin passed such an Ordinance in January, 2011 to halt Smart Meter installation.

 MOTION OF THE TOWN OF FAIRFAX, CALIFORNIA, AND THE ALLIANCE FORHUMAN AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH TO PERMIT AMENDMENT OF PROTESTTO ADD THE COUNTY OF MARIN, CALIFORNIA, AS A PROTESTING PARTY
The currently-named Protestants in the "Protest of the Town of Fairfax,California, and the Alliance for Human and Environmental Health" ("Protest") filed on April 25, 2011, in the above-captioned matter, hereby move that the Commission permitamendment of the Protest by adding the County of Marin, California, as a ProtestingParty. In support whereof, the moving parties state as follows: Attachment A to the Protest is a letter from Susan Adams, President of the MarinCounty Board of Supervisors, to President Peevey expressing support of this specificProtest on behalf of the Marin County Board of Supervisors. As footnote 1 of theProtest indicates, Supervisor Steve Kinsey stated that he would seek formal approval of the Marin County Board of Supervisors to become a participating party in the Protest atits next scheduled meeting. As moved by Supervisor Kinsey, the Marin County Board
 
3of Supervisors unanimously granted that approval during its meeting on April 26, 2011.Implementing that approval, the County of Marin has requested that it be recognized asa named Protestant in the Protest as set forth in the amended Protest, attached heretoas Attachment 1.
