Since mid-90s, The Community-based RenewableEnergy Systems or CBRES have been developedby POs and communities and NGOs, incollaboration with LGUs.
 CBRES is increasingly being established as aviable energy delivery mechanism for remoterural villages in off-grid areas.

Biomass powered systems
 
Their outputs are bettermeasured by the number of rural households andcommunities that arebenefitted by lighting, water,energy to drive smallmachines such as mills.
