Dear People Concerned About Our Rights to Choose Health Over Microwave Radiation . . .
.
Exposure:
There is presently a petition by the CTIA (formerly know as the Cellular Telephone IndustriesAssociation) - but now known as "CTIA - The Wireless Associaton" - to the Federral CommunicationsCommission (FCC) to further limit a community's say over the limited zoning authority they still have ofcell phone base station and antenna installation in the USA. (Citizen's rights to protect their health frommicrowave radiation were already extremely curtailed in the
unconstitutional
and
undemocratic

FederalCommunications Act of 1996
- also predominantly authored by the Cellular Telephone IndustriesAssociation.)As Janet Newton of the EMR-Network writes:It is crucial for you as individuals and for your local government officials to speak up against the CTIAPetition now before the Federal Communications Commission.Submit your comment
by September 29, 2008 as an individual citizen to oppose the wirelessindustry's Petition at the FCC to further limit local zoning authority over antenna siting decisions.
You can submit your comment as an individual who has an opinion on the need to protect the rights ofyour local government to decide where wireless transmitters sites should be placed in your community.Further information is given by the law firm ofMiller and Van Eaton in Washington DC. (Choose the linkon the right under "Hot Topics" entitled "FCC Issues Two-Week Extension of Dates for Comments onCTIA Petition for Regulation of Local Tower Zoning Decisions.")Since more and more people world-wide are becoming aware of the severe health dangers these basestations pose to a community, the CTIA is simply attempting to attain an unhindered power to quickly andefficiently erect base stations whereever they like before this increasing number of people (andgovernments) who are becoming aware of the dangers start to take action, since once they are up itbecomes that much more difficult to legally take them down. The CTIA made a similar attempt in the fall of 1997 to completely remove all zoning authority over cell-phone base station sites in the USA. (See"National Zoning Nanny"for the history.) However, a letterwriting campaign from US citizens was fortunately able to block this and the FCC did not grant the CTIAtheir wish.As Janet Newton further writes,
Action is Urgently Needed Now
:
The same effort is needed now
by September 29, 2008. In - Box 1.Proceeding - type 08-165.
Fill out the rest of the form as it applies to you as an individual. You canattach your Comment as a PDF document, or you can type your comment directly into the box at thebottom of that page.
In addition, as Miller and Van Eaton advises, urge your local municipal officers to participate inthe joint filing that MVE is preparing:
It appears that CTIA senses a void in local government concerns and hopes it can get the FCC toact before local governments can mount an effective defense. We recommend immediate actionto oppose CTIA's petition. Local government needs a cogent and comprehensive response to theFCC. Please contact MVE if your community will participate in a coalition effort to fight this CTIAattack on local zoning.
Urge your local municipal officers to contact:
Jim Hobson jhobson@millervaneaton.comor Rick Ellrodfellrod@millervaneaton.comor by phone at: 202-785-0600.If people do not act now to stop this we will be seeing an increasing number of people sick and anincreasing disappearance of wildlife - which is already happening all over the world.Paul Raymond Doyon.
