Argentina's road to medical tourism stardome began in 2002, when the country has finally recovered from a tragic economic crisis. On that year, Argentina's economic outlook was completely different from that of the 1990s; the devalued peso made Argentine exports cheap and competitive abroad. As a result, plastic surgery in Argentina became more affordable for U.S., Canada and U.K. citizens. This marks Argentina's debut as the fastest growing medical tourism attraction in the world.
