It was by chance that two strangers from New York met while attending Indiana University in 2001. After spending more time together, Lauren and John realized they had a lot of interests in common, and the two began dating. Eight years later, the couple headed to Hilton Head, South Carolina for vacation. They were enjoying Key Lime Pie for dessert at a beautiful restaurant overlooking the water when John asked Lauren to marry him on June 14, 2009. I was completely surprised and had not expected it that night, reminisced the bride. The newly engaged couple set the date for September 4, 2010. When Lauren and John began planning their wedding, there was no question as to where their intimate celebration would take place. The couple loved The English Manor for its beautiful grounds, outdoor gardens, and the personal attention they received. Lauren shared, I have a very personal connection to The English Manor. My aunt and uncle, Lisa and Bobby Truesdale own the facility, and I had been there many times. I imagined getting married there from the moment I became engaged. They also liked the large windows in the reception room that overlooked the garden and how this facility hosts one wedding at a time. Once all of the details had been made, the couples wedding day finally arrived. The day started at Laurens moms house, where her bridesmaids and mother-in-law met Lauren and her mom for breakfast. After enjoying bagels, coffee, and mimosas, the girls headed to The Sea Spa for hair and makeup preparations. Laurens hair was styled in an elegant updo, set slightly to the side. A custom-made headpiece made of feathers with a beaded detail and a two-tiered ivory veil completed her look. After being pampered to perfection, the girls arrived at The English Manor where they finished getting ready in the bridal suite. In an effort to be able to enjoy the reception with their guests, without being pulled away, the bride and groom opted to see each other prior to the ceremony to take their photographs. A special meet and greet was set up on the bridge in the gardens where Lauren and John saw each other for the first time. Emil from Contemporary Image Photography captured all of the moments perfectly in a photojournalistic style. John recalled, Working with Emil was great. He was casual, professional, and although Emil has worked at The English Manor several times before, he was innovative and tried new ways to take pictures, overall making this an exciting experience for us. It was a beautiful day, 75 degrees and sunny, perfect for an outdoor ceremony amid the lush gardens in the gazebo. Lauren walked down the aisle, escorted by her parents, donning a trumpet-style Essence of Australia gown. It was strapless, had ruching along the bodice, and was personalized with a silk flower with feathers that was pinned on the left hip. Designed by Petal Beach, she held a bouquet of white hydrangea, orchids, lizzianthus, and roses among berries and greenery. John sported a black tuxedo, ivory shirt, vest, and striped tie. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and their 110 guests enjoyed an outdoor cocktail hour on the deck. Fifteen passed hors doeuvres were served, in addition to an Asian station with handmade sushi and a hibachi grill. Dinner began with an antipasto salad and an intermezzo, followed by a choice of Champagne chicken or chateaubriand. The selection of food that was available was fantastic. Everything was served hot and on time, and the service was impeccable, commented John. In addition to the three-tiered chocolate and vanilla layered cake with chocolate pudding filling, miniature ice cream cones were served on silver trays. Elite Entertainment had everyone dancing all night to a variety of music including music from Sufjan Stevens, Joshua Radin, John Mayer, and The Beatles. Lauren and John shared their first dance as newlyweds to Id Rather Be With You by Joshua Radin and also participated in the traditional parent dances. In lieu of party favors, donations to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society were made in honor of Johns father. Lauren was a hands-on bride, creating the custom-made invitations, guestbook, and even a poster that listed everything the couple loves about each other. After a fabulous wedding, the couple escaped to Mexico for their honeymoon where they stayed at Dreams Puerto Vallarta Resort and Spa for ten days. Lauren and John continue to thank everyone who helped them make their wedding day come true, especially Lisa and Bobby Truesdale and the staff at The English Manor. ContemporaryBride.com

Lauren
&
Steven
Lauren had a slight crush on Steven while growing up and would even ride her bike around the neighborhood with her best friend in hopes of catching a glance of Steven. While on one of their escapades, Lauren fell off of her bike right in front of Stevens house where he was playing basketball with his friends. Although it was Laurens dream come true when he helped her off of the ground, it wasnt until high school that the two became inseparable. Having dated for eight glorious years and with Stevens cousins annual Christmas party quickly approaching, he knew this would be the perfect opportunity to surprise Lauren. My cousins Christmas party holds a special meaning to both Lauren and me. She met my family for the first time at one of these parties, and I knew I was going to marry her, shared Steven. After a few hours into the party, Steven began to toast, which ended with him on one knee asking Lauren to be his wife. I never felt more special in my entire life! I was instantly glowing and my heart definitely skipped a few beats, reminisced Lauren. With over a year until their big day, the couple had plenty of time to plan their wedding and called on Marissa Mortimer of Lavish Occasions to help make the planning process more enjoyable. Once all of the plans were finalized, August 27, 2010 finally arrived. The bride and her bridesmaids began getting ready at the House of Trends, where Frank and PJ from The Studio Photographers met them to begin capturing pictures. When the couple first met with The Studio Photographers months before, they were impressed with their photojournalistic style and noted how their work is second to none. It was important for me to have Frank and PJ capture every moment of the day. Having them show up bright and early made my day start perfectly, noted the bride. Laurens hair was styled in an elegant updo that was swept to one side. Her makeup was applied flawlessly by Michele. While the girls were being pampered, the groom, his groomsmen, and father played a round of golf before getting ready. The couple was chauffeured to the church in a Chrysler 300 and the bridal party in a big Escalade. Double Diamond did an excellent job on the wedding day, arriving on time and keeping everybody on schedule getting to the church and reception site, and the professionalism shown to all, quoted the bride and groom. ContemporaryBride.com
The interfaith ceremony took place at the Church of Our Lady of Pity, the grooms parish. As the doors opened to the church, Lauren appeared the way Steven described her as, the most beautiful bride. She walked down the aisle donning a stunning Kleinfeld exclusive, Alita Graham design. It was made of silver, ivory satin embellished with intricate crystals and beading. A silk flower and a fingertip-length veil matched the brides gown perfectly and completed her look. Steven sported a traditional black tuxedo with an ivory shirt, vest, and tie, and black patent leather shoes. Following a beautiful ceremony, the newlyweds, their bridal party, and their guests headed to The Estate at Florentine Gardens for an extravagant celebration. When Lauren and Steven visited this facility they were amazed by the gorgeous floor-to-ceiling windows, the Juliet balcony, high ceilings, large dance floor, and vast grounds with gazebos, fountains, and colorful gardens. Additionally, The Estate at Florentine Gardens accommodated their large guest list of just under 300 people. After meeting with Oliver Leoni, they were sold, as he was welcoming, honest, and was willing to do his best to give them the greatest affair possible. From cocktail hour to dinner, guests enjoyed an endless amount of food from passed hors doeuvres, pasta selections, a Ceviche bar, a chilled seafood raw bar, and a Chinese takeout display to the main entres of a New York strip steak, French cut chicken breast, or potato crusted Chilean sea bass. For dessert, guests indulged in an elaborate Viennese display serving a variety of cakes and confections, including a death by chocolate display. From the moment the bridal party was introduced into the reception to Taio Cruzs Dynamite, guests enjoyed the evening of socializing and dancing to both a disc jockey and a band. The newlyweds held the spotlight to Everything by Michael Bubl. As Lauren and her father participated in the traditional father/daughter dance, he performed the song, Youll Always Be My Little Girl, which he wrote especially for her. Following the reception guests were invited to continue the celebration at The After Party, where the cocktail hour room was transformed into a lounge atmosphere. Guests continued to socialize, dance, and eat until 2:30 am. Once the party officially ended, guests headed home, and Lauren and Steven were off to their honeymoon in Hawaii for two weeks.

The wedding cake has come a long way from plain and traditional to magnificent works of art, allowing brides and grooms to challenge their cake designers to create detail-oriented designs. Not only should the bride and grooms personality shine through, but the overall theme or color scheme should tie your wedding together. While polka dots, stripes, damask, and paisley patterns are still widely chosen with vivid colors, old fashioned influences return with a vintage-inspired twist by using lace, bows, ribbons, or ruffles to create a soft and classic feel. Decorating with seasonal colors and sugar flower embellishments are sure to please the eye, while a delicious vanilla cake with fresh seasonal berries or fruits will leave a lasting taste that reflects the time of year. Whichever design you choose, your wedding cake will always be a fond memory of your special day.

When Annie and Jim had their first date at Stout NYC, they quickly realized they had many things in common and that their paths had crossed several times before fate brought them together. Jim had worked for the City of New York on the 311 call center project when it first launched, and I was currently working on that project as a consultant. It turns out that we actually worked in the same building, on the same floor, in the same office, but five years apart, recalled Annie. The two began seeing each other regularly, and Annie knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Jim after meeting his warm and welcoming family for Christmas dinner. For an intimate proposal, Jim knew he wanted it to take place somewhere that was special to both of them. While on the beach during a weekend trip to Breakers on the Ocean in Spring Lake, Jim turned to Annie and asked, Will you spend the rest of your life with me? The happily engaged couple then celebrated with family and friends at a party that was planned by her sister. With less than a year before the big day, the couple knew exactly what they wanteda location with a gorgeous view, delicious food, and elements that would tie together their nautical-inspired celebration. Guests were informed about the August 28, 2010 wedding with elegant invitations that had a scrollwork design with a single navy starfish in the center. Following their religious traditions, Annie and Jim chose to hold their ceremony at St. Dominics Roman Catholic Church. Not only had the bride made all of her sacraments at St. Dominics and attended grade school at this parish, but they loved the high ceilings, stained glass windows, simplistic dcor, long aisle, and how the organ and choir were set up in the loft. We chose to have a full mass for the ceremony, and many of my family members participated by reading, bringing up the gifts, and providing the music. One of my aunts even sang a solo to Ave Maria, commented Annie. The bride walked down the aisle in a breathtaking Enzoani lace gown purchased from La Belle Boutique.
The couple chose to have their reception at the Crystal Point Yacht Club for its beautiful grounds, known reputation, convenient location, accommodating staff, and the option to arrive to their celebration in style by a Viking Yacht. From cocktail hour, dinner and dessert, guests enjoyed a wide array of food from passed hors doeuvres, a pasta station, seafood crepe station, carving station, and chafing dishes of calamari to stuffed shells, roasted pork loin, eggplant rollatini, and chicken savoy. For the main entre, guests were given a choice of chicken crystal, chateaubriand, or Chilean sea bass. The food was phenomenal. There was something for everyone during the cocktail hour, and our guests also loved how they came around with seconds for dinner, commented Jim. The four-tiered vanilla with strawberry custard filling had a Swiss dot design adorned with a navy blue ribbon on the bottom of each tier. Pastry platters were also served for dessert, as well as espresso and after dinner cordials. Mary Raleigh from Contemporary Image Photography captured the day perfectly. Her professionalism, creative eye, and easy going attitude allowed the bride and groom to be comfortable in front of the camera. The couple liked how Mary was familiar with the ceremony and reception locations, which allowed her to capture many beautiful photographs. Guests danced the night away to a variety of music from Elite Sound Entertainment. Vinny, the emcee and Tommy their disc jockey, worked well together and played songs for every generation from oldies and country to todays top 40 hits. After being introduced into the Crystal Ballroom to Forever by Chris Brown, the newlyweds shared their first dance together to Annies Song by John Denver, played acoustically by Annies brother and Jims best friend. After their celebration, the couple escaped to Hawaii and spent time in Maui and The Big Island. During their romantic two weeks in paradise, Annie and Jim had the opportunity to snorkel off of a catamaran, see Pilate Whales, watch a sunrise over a volcano, and, of course, enjoy their time as newlyweds. Rachel was about to nap before her night class when Matt walked over to her and put a piece of paper on her bed. While she read the names, Mom, Dad, Ashley, Marlena, Samantha, Matt announced that she had to call these people. As she rolled over asking why, Matt was down on one knee and responded, Because you have to tell them you just got engaged. The couple began planning their beach-themed celebration. Rachel and the girls of her bridal party woke up early on August 28, 2010 to be pampered to perfection. Styled by Mari Milani of My Cinderellas Dream, the bride wore her hair in an elegant curled updo, with a few loose curls framing her face. While the girls continued with hair and makeup, which was beautifully captured in photographs by Darren LeBlanc, Matt and his groomsmen got ready at the hotel and then headed over to his parents house for pictures. The ceremony took place at the Beachfront North in Long Branch. Rachel walked down the aisle wearing an exquisite A-line, ivory gown, embellished with a jeweled belt and a chapel train designed by Lazaro. Finding my dress was the most exciting part of planning my wedding. I tried on many gowns, and when I walked out in this dress everyone that came with me said, Oh my God. I couldnt stop spinning around to look at it from every angle, and I knew this was the dress I would wear on my wedding day, shared Rachel. A handmade silk satin flower and a fingertip length veil were worn to complete her classic vintage look. Following a beautiful ceremony held overlooking the beach and ocean on the grand stage, the newlyweds, their bridal party, and guests headed to Branches Catering for an exceptional reception. Two years prior to becoming engaged, Rachel attended her grandparents 50th wedding anniversary at Branches Catering and was so happy with the outcome that she knew they had to consider this facility to host their wedding. The bride and groom were impressed by the beautiful grounds, outdoor garden area, and stunning ballroom, as well as the customer service and accommodating staff. Working with our wedding coordinator provided by Branches was great. Alissa Gelband took care of everything we needed in advance so there were no glitches on the big day, commented Rachel. Cocktail hour began with a variety of 17 passed hors doeuvres including cheeseburger sliders, crab cakes, coconut chicken, risotto with scallops and lobster, and shrimp cocktail shooters, and much more. Guests had a choice of chicken carciofe, beef tenderloin or filet mignon, shrimp encrusted salmon, or pasta primavera for dinner. The staff was accommodating and exceeded my expectations. They made the night very special for Rachel, and I couldnt have asked for anything more, noted Matt. A Viennese table, a chocolate dipping fountain, and an international coffee bar were served for dessert, in addition to three-tiered platters of pastries and cookies placed on each table. The four-tiered wedding cake, designed by Rachels maid of honor, was a chocolate cake with Kahlua filling and marshmallow icing. Marcus from Simply Professional DJs had everyone up out of their seats dancing all night long. He played a variety of music from Elvis, ACDC, The Beatles, to Bon Jovi, Drake, and The Black Eyed Peas. Rachel and Matt shared their first dance as newlyweds to You Are So Beautiful by Joe Crocker. They also surprised the grooms parents by asking them to share a special anniversary dance together. The wedding was wonderfully captured in photographs by Darren and Nino of Darren LeBlanc Photography. They took many classic pictures from morning preparations, on the stage after the ceremony, and beach photographs. Nino took such an amazing picture of me dipping Rachel on the stage and kissing her. At the end of the reception they surprised us by showcasing the images on the screen and this one picture really took everyones breath away. Both Darren and Nino really did an incredible job capturing the unforgettable moments, commented Matt. The couple also enjoyed working with Dan from Dan Zambrano Productions. Not only was he unobtrusive, but he knew the moments to look for that would make their wedding video perfect. At the end of the celebration, the newlyweds escaped to Hawaii for their honeymoon, where they visited Kauai and Maui. Rachel and Matt are currently enjoying time together as husband and wife and are looking forward to starting a family in the future.

Michelle was working for a school district summer camp where they would take field trips to parks and have picnics. Luckily for Michelle and her camp kids, they found a fountain to cool off in Roosevelt Park on one of those hot summer days. The kids began talking about love, wrote their names on the fountain, and made a pact that when they found true love they would come back to cross off their names. After hearing this story, Robert took Michelle back to the same location years later, and to her surprise she saw her name, in large letters with a line going through it. When she saw her name, I dropped to one knee and asked her to marry me. I wanted to propose in this way because I thought it would be symbolic of our relationship and how we both found true love, recalled Robert. The wedding date was set for May 23, 2010. With less than a year to plan their big day, the couple began making arrangements right away. Upon visiting The Rosewood for the first time, they were warmly welcomed by a staff that genuinely cared about their wedding. Michelle and Robert were instantly taken away by the overall feel of the facility and loved many of its features from the classic dcor, long staircase, curtain treatments, and a beautiful outside area to take photographs amid the flowers, benches, and fountains. In addition, they liked how The Rosewood offers an on-site ceremony location. We had many guests coming from out of town and wanted to make it as convenient as possible for them noted Michelle. The interfaith ceremony took place in the garden room, which gave the feel as if you were outside with many windows and flower adornments throughout the room. The bride donned a gorgeous trumpetstyle gown, adorned with lace, a rhinestone belt, and had an open back. Her bouquet, designed by Brandywine Floral Design, was a mix of yellow tulips, roses and green hydrangea all wrapped in a yellow satin ribbon. Robert sported a dark charcoal gray Joseph Abboud tuxedo. Following the exchange of heartfelt vows, it was time for the newlyweds and their guests to enjoy the party. Cocktail hour served an assortment of passed hors doeuvres and a variety of stations from seafood, pasta, and a turkey carving station. For dinner, guests had a choice of chateau briand or a white wine chicken dish accompanied with green beans and baby red potatoes. Guests were also offered seconds if they wished to try another dish. The wedding cake was a three-tiered round cake adorned with yellow roses. Its flavor was vanilla with cream filling. In addition to the cake, chocolate-covered strawberries, miniature ice cream cones, and a chocolate fountain was on hand. The staff at The Rosewood was unbelievable. They made sure that not only were we taken care of but our guests as well, commented the bride. I have a food allergy, and I am on a gluten free diet. The chef personally met with us and assured me I had nothing to worry about. Everyone at The Rosewood was willing to go out of their way for us and they did, added the groom. Val Solo Photography captured all of the special moments throughout the day both on film and video. They liked Julias creative eye and how many shots she took, in particular outside in the garden area, in the bridal suite, and on the staircase. The videographer, also from Val Solo Photography and Video, blended in nicely with their guests, while still getting every important event on film. Guests danced the night away and shared many special memories on the dance floor while the East Coast Band performed. They played a variety of music from all genres from doo-wop to the Black Eyed Peas. As their guests watched on, the newlyweds danced to, What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong. Following their celebration, Michelle and Robert escaped to the Sandals Grande in Antigua for their honeymoon. When asked what advice they could give future brides and grooms-to-be, Robert noted, Try to embrace the planning process. Break it up by booking each vendor at a timethe key is to not get overwhelmed by getting it all accomplished at once. Michelle added, The day of your wedding goes by so fast. Its important to take a few minutes with your husband to observe your wedding and to absorb it all in. ContemporaryBride.com

Gloria
& Michael
Although Gloria and Michael met while in dental school, it wasnt until the two were out with a group of mutual friends that they got to know each other. Gloria and Michael had their first date two days later, and as time progressed, they had come to realize that they had crossed paths years ago. We went to Fairleigh Dickinson University, had the same major, teachers, and were even in the same building for classes, shared Michael. Five years later on April 12, 2010, Gloria and Michael went out to dinner at Samurai Sushi, followed by a walk around Taylor Park. Just as they were strolling across one of the bridges, Gloria looked into the water and turned around to find Michael down on one knee holding a jewelry box. He told me that he loved me with all of his heart, wanted me to be a part of his life forever, and asked me to marry him. I stood him up, wrapped my arms around him, and couldnt stop crying. All I could do was shake my head yes, reminisced Gloria. When the engaged couple began planning their wedding, they knew they wanted it to be elegant and romantic. Upon entering The Rockleigh for the first time, Gloria and Michael were impressed with the luxurious facility, from the fireplaces, grand pianos, and outdoor courtyard with gazebos and lighted fountains to the magnificent ballroom with marble floors, and crystal chandeliers. In addition, the staff was pleasant and willing to bend over backward for Gloria and Michael from the beginning. Rockni, the Director of Catering gave Gloria and Michael a tour of the grounds, made them feel comfortable, was helpful, and exceeded their expectations. Once they knew about all of the amenities The Rockleigh had to offer, they knew this was the perfect location to host their wedding. After about seven months of planning, November 27, 2010 finally arrived. The ceremony location at The Rockleigh was decorated perfectly for their traditional Jewish ceremony, with a Chuppah made up of sheer cream-colored organza, terracotta, raspberry and merlot flowers, and hanging crystals. A champagne dupione silk aisle runner lay delicately down the center of the room. The bride walked down the aisle donning a sweetheart, strapless A-line Maggie Sottero gown. It featured beaded lace accents, a corset-style back, and handmade flowers within the bustles of the skirt. She held a bouquet of deep purple calla lilies wrapped in ivory silk and was embellished with rhinestones throughout. The groom looked sharp in an Aston two-button Calvin Klein tuxedo. ContemporaryBride.com
Following the ceremony, guests made their way into the Grand Pavilion room for an extravagant cocktail hour. A wide variety of selections were available, including a pasta station, carving station, Pan-Asian dumpling and stir fry station, southwestern station, kabob station, sushi station, a buffet area with assorted hot appetizers, a Panini station, thirteen passed hors doeuvres, and more. Dinner served a choice of Tournedos of prime filet mignon, pan roasted Chilean sea bass, or pan seared French cut chicken breasts, accompanied by garlic and chive mashed potatoes and vegetables. I was blown away by the amount of food and the presentation. Everything was made fresh and the staff even asked our guests if they would like seconds, commented the groom. A Viennese display was set up for dessert, serving a variety of sweet treats of assorted cakes, an ice cream sundae bar, chocolate fondue fountains, crepe station, and a Belgian waffle station. The wedding cake, designed by Le Petit Gateau, was five-tiered with a cascading ribbon style. It had a variety of flavors of red velvet cake with cream cheese icing, combo cake with cappuccino, yellow cake with raspberry mouse, and yellow cake with peanut butter. If guests werent eating, they were socializing and dancing to live music provided by Phase One of Craig Scott Entertainment. They played a variety of songs from every generation ranging from the 60s to todays top 40s, as well as Russian songs to accommodate the brides family. For their first dance as husband and wife, Gloria and Michael danced to Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwoole. They also participated in a combined parent dance to Sunrise Sunset. Abbey Creative Photography captured the days events in both photography and on film. The couple liked how they were creative and professional. James and Dave photographed all of the special moments perfectly. They were very patient with everyone, and the pictures were amazing, commented Gloria. There were two videographers filming from beginning to end and did not miss any part of their wedding. At the end of the night a candy bar was set up in the lobby for guests to fill purple goody bags with a variety of candy to enjoy for their ride home. The newlyweds are looking forward to building a home and eventually starting a family together.

As the lights suddenly dimmed, the crowd quieted down, curious as to what would happen next. Suddenly, whispers grew loud, cameras starting flashing, and out walked a professional Elvis Presley impersonator, who began serenading Bevin and Michael with Cant Help Falling in Love, as the couple shared their first dance together as husband and wife. Guests watched in awe, but the surprises werent over just yet. Having taken dance lessons at NY Wedding Dance, Bevin and Michael then broke off into a choreographed swing dance to Jailhouse Rock. The guests cheered as the two finished their dance, sending Elvis into a three-song medley that concluded with everyone dancing along with him to All Shook Up. The party was just getting started. Chris Garrow from Unforgettable D.J.s made everything come together and flow effortlessly. Guests continued to dance the night away, even breaking off into a battle of Irish step dancing to the Irish classic, Siege of Ennis. Michael commented that it was a very special moment. My father pulled my new bride onto the dance floor, and my family symbolically danced around her. If you ask my relatives, Bevin technically became my wife at the church, but it was not official until the Seige of Ennis stopped playing, he exclaimed. The party continued on into the night, as there was much to celebrate. Bevin and Michael tied the knot just a few hours earlier. In an intimate ceremony at St. Catharines Church, Bevins cousin, Father Francis Shannon, married the couple. Their loved ones sat quietly in the pews, as the two officially confirmed their love for one another. Guests held beautiful, hardcover programs that contained details about Bevin and Michaels journey to marriage, including how they met and how they got engaged, as well as photographs and biographies of everyone in the bridal party. Everyone especially loved reading about the proposal. Just eleven months ago Michael called Bevin, asking to meet at a nearby store. Little did she know, this meeting would set her off on a three-hour scavenger hunt around Central Park. Knowing they both love adventures, Michael took two weeks to create the ultimate scavenger hunt. The personalized search included a handcrafted, laminated guidebook, which contained pictures of the couples favorite moments and inside jokes. Along the way, Bevin had to answer questions at checkpoints, for which she would then receive rewards. Finally, Michael asked Bevin the most important question as he held Bevins family ring from 1910. The correct answer, yes, earned Bevin the greatest reward of all: marriage to the love of her life. Bevin felt like a movie star standing at the altar dressed in her mermaid-style Enzoani Dakota lace gown. Her elbow-length Toni Federici veil, flower sash, and glitter Jimmy Choo slingbacks complimented her dress perfectly. Michael looked handsome in his black Hugo Boss Red Label tuxedo from Bloomingdales, as he looked lovingly at Bevin. Emotions filled the church as Father Francis pronounced the couple husband and wife. After the ceremony, everyone headed over to The English Manor, where the celebration began. The couple knew from the moment they first pulled up to The English Manor that they wanted to have their reception there and meeting the wonderful staff only solidified their decision. It looks like an elegant, graceful mansion, and at first you dont realize that it goes so far back with a gorgeous ballroom and lots of other different rooms. The gazebo outside is a beautiful place for the cocktail hour, and the staff is unbelievably fantastic, Bevin recalled. Plus they only host one wedding at a time so you get wonderful, personal attention, Michael added. Guests enjoyed a lavish cocktail hour on the outside deck amid the sprawling gardens, as a steel drum band played in the background. For dinner, there was a choice of filet of salmon or prime rib au jus served with fresh vegetables and either rice pilaf or potatoes. Following dinner, everyone enjoyed a scrumptious Viennese hour and a four-tiered, red velvet wedding cake, topped with Bevins grandmothers antique cake topper. It was perfectly decorated with navy blue ribbons and white dots, and it was delicious, Bevin reminisced. From Elvis to special dances to heartfelt speeches, Bevin and Michaels reception certainly was extraordinary. Luckily they had Josh Lynn Photography and Christine Duggan Videography there to help capture their big day. We are very fortunate to have employed such experienced and talented professionals, Michael stated. Both Bevin and Michael agreed that they loved the photographs and cant believe they really looked so good! Michael added that Josh Lynns honest and artistic fashion made for wonderful pictures, and his pleasant character made them feel completely comfortable. The couple cant wait to see their video, which, judging by Christine Duggans professionalism, will be wonderful. After their wedding, Bevin and Michael honeymooned in Beijing for three days before heading off to Phuket and Koh Samui in Thailand. The couple continues to thank everyone who helped make their wedding so personal and special. ContemporaryBride.com

It was New York Citys biggest snowstorm of 2009 as Patty and Manny ventured to the top of the Empire State Building on a cold March day. The couple was in the city to see a comedy show, but Manny insisted they go to the top, when they found themselves right outside of the famous landmark. Despite exiting visitors questioning looks, Patty and Manny proceeded up while everyone was heading down as a result of the storm. Once at the top, the beautiful view was accompanied by an intimate calm. It felt like we were in a snowglobe, Patty recalls, and Manny began taking pictures to capture the special moment. Little did Patty know, it was about to become even more magical. Manny handed Patty the camera to look at the photographs he had just taken. When she got to the last slide, it read, Patty, will you marry me? As Patty looked up, Manny was down on one knee. After over a year of planning, Patty and Manny tied the knot in a traditional Greek ceremony at Kimisis Tis Theotokou, a Greek Orthodox Church in Holmdel, New Jersey. The beautiful new church was the perfect fit for their ceremony, and Father George Dounelis welcomed them with open arms. Following Greek tradition, the couple traded rings, exchanged crowns three times throughout the ceremony, and took a ceremonial walk around the church altar. Patty wore an Angelina Faccenda gown from RK Bridal, with a rhinestone headpiece and an ivory cathedral veil that she made together with her aunt and her mother. Delicately sparkling on her wrist was a twocarat diamond bracelet that Manny surprised her with earlier that morning. Manny stood at the altar in a two-button peak lapel tuxedo with a black vest from ChazMaTazz Formalwear. He wore an ivory shirt, an ivory paisley tie, and turquoise crystal cufflinks that were a wedding gift from Patty. After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests went to the Pines Manor for their beach-themed reception. Patty and Manny didnt even consider having their wedding celebration anywhere else. Having both met working at the Pines Manor, it holds a very special place in their hearts. A wedding is a time to be spent with friends and family, and that is what the Pines Manor is to us, recalled Patty. It felt like being home. When asked about the staff at their wedding, the couple responded with one word, Amazing. They mentioned that the Pines Manor staff always seemed to view the glass as half-full, they were always on point, and they anticipated everyones needs. Before we could ask, it was already done, Manny proudly stated. When guests entered the Pines Manor, they immediately felt as though they had been whisked off to a beautiful Greek isle. The room was appropriately decorated in turquoise and white, and Dori from Total Party created a stunning ceiling treatment that featured Chinese lanterns. Guests place cards and champagne glasses that held an edible hibiscus flower were set on a table covered in wheatgrass that was provided by The Arc Greenhouses. As steel drums played in the background, everyone knew that Patty and Mannys reception was going to be an incredible experience, just as the couple had hoped. Guests enjoyed a large variety of foods at the lavish cocktail hour. Incorporating Pattys Polish culture and Mannys Greek culture, there was everything from a raw bar to a pierogi station to a miniature slider station. The Mojito and blender bar was a pleasant surprise to guests and only enhanced their warm feelings of relaxing on the beach. For dinner, everyone enjoyed sea bass or filet mignon. Dessert followed, featuring a beautifully designed cake from Americana Baking Company. Layers of chocolate and vanilla cake with a raspberry filling and a buttercream icing was the perfect light finish to a wonderful dining experience. A live Cretan band delighted guests and once again strengthened the feeling of being on a gorgeous Greek island. Following Greek tradition, Patty danced first as guests generously threw money at her. It was a lot of fun, but I had to be careful not to slip on the money, Patty reminisced. Later, Manny joined Patty, as they shared their first dance as husband and wife to Shameless by Garth Brooks. With the help of Platinum Entertainment, guests continued to be entertained throughout the night. Patty and Manny are still talking about how much they loved Marconi Photography. Manny is happy that they have traditional wedding photographs, but also artsy ones, which are wonderful keepsakes. The couple also mentioned that their photographer did a great job of blending in and making everyone feel comfortable. We even did a Trash the Dress photoshoot! (See the pics on pages 192 & 193.) He made us feel like rockstars, Patty exclaimed. After their beautiful summer wedding, the couple honeymooned at the Riu Palace in Aruba for seven days and six nights. They loved it so much that they are already planning to go back. ContemporaryBride.com

During what began as a night out with her friend Kim at Chickie & Petes in South Philadelphia, Christina ended up meeting the man of her dreams. Christina and John instantly clicked that night and kept in touch afterwards. Despite John working at the time in Rhode Island, the two continued to visit each other and kept in touch. The couple continued to date for three years, before John finally popped the question. Christina had planned a fun-filled day in New York City for the two of them, not aware that John was planning on popping the question that evening. During the trip, Christina and John decided to take a walk in Central Park, where there was a horse and carriage waiting for them. While on the ride on Madison Avenue in Manhattan, John asked Christina to move over. A little confused at the moment Christina agreed to move over. As she was moving over, she quickly noticed people staring at her in the streets. As Christina turned back around, before her eyes was John down on one knee. I knew it was love after our first date to the Cheesecake Factory, shared Christina. I remember John saying to me, that he couldnt wait anymore and leaned in to kiss me, it was a moment Ill never forget. The date was set for January 16, 2010. When the couple began planning their wedding, they fell in love with the first place they visited, The Venetian. Jennifer and John loved what this location had to offer to themthe wide selection of food, the marble dance floor, the Romanesque colors, and the big crystal chandeliers. After meeting with the owner, they knew this was the place to hold their dream wedding. Following the ceremony, guests helped themselves to The Venetians signature cocktail hour that consisted of pork and lamb. First course consisted of a tower of mozzarella, tomato, and parmesan basket with salad. The guests had the choice between stuffed chicken breast, asiago cheese, prosciutto, potato, broccoli rabe, filet mignon, and vegetables for
dinner. Finally for Christina and Johns Venetian hour, guests enjoyed a white and milk chocolate fountain, cannolis, red velvet cake, zeppolis, Ben and Jerrys milkshakes, cotton candy, as well as cappuccinos, and waffles. If you love food the way us Italians do, trust me, you couldnt wait to eat all the food that we talked about, shared John. From the hors doeuvres to the entrees, I knew this was going to be a great wedding! The wedding cake designed by A Little Cake (Le Petit Gateau), was three-tiered with flowers cascading down the sides and made up of three different flavorsred velvet with cream cheese icing, citrus with lemon mousse, and chocolate cake with chocolate ganache. For their first dance as newlyweds, Christina and John shared a romantic moment to Vivo Per Lei by Andrea Bocelli. Classie Sounds Entertainment played a variety of music all night, having the guests on the dance floor the whole night. Our emcee stayed in tune with our guests the whole night making sure it fit everyones needs. He even made sure the right music was being played when specific food was out, said Christina. The music made the night. I couldnt stop dancing, John added. The couple was extremely pleased with their photographer and videographer from Abella Studios. Christina and John were able to choose between several packages, which made it easy to choose the right one for them. The staff explained what they offered, as well as what they could do to suit the couples needs exactly. The photographer was greatthey knew what pictures I wanted and were on time the whole day, commented the bride. Following their big wedding, the two newlyweds honeymooned in Anguilla and St. Martin. Janessa
& Chris
Janessa and Chris dated for four years and taught each other a thing or two along their journey of love. Before the start of a new school year teaching in South Brunswick, the two escaped on a weekend getaway to relax and enjoy the end of the summer. On the way home from Atlantic City, they stopped in Ocean City. After a round of miniature golf, Chris proposed with a solitaire ring, completely surprising Janessa. They set their wedding date for July 31, 2010 and began planning their special day. When the couple found the South Gate Manor in Contemporary Bride Magazine, they were attracted to the modern dcor and marble flooring that was depicted in their advertisement. Janessa and Chris immediately booked an appointment and were even more blown away by the facility. The South Gate Manor had everything they were looking for from the high ceilings, long corridor, and beautiful window treatments, to how well-maintained it was. More importantly, they were welcomed by the Marino family who answered their questions, made them feel comfortable, and spent hours assisting the couple plan even the smallest details. The big day finally arrived, and the bride woke up early to begin preparations. Patricia from Gustavos Salon styled Janessas hair in a curled updo with side swept bangs. While Janessa was pampered to perfection, Chris, too, enjoyed his morning by sleeping in, getting a haircut, and hanging out with his groomsmen until the 10-passenger stretch limousine arrived from First Class Limousine. The ceremony was held at St. James Church. It was the church Janessa grew up in, and her family wanted her to be married there, commented Chris. The bride walked down the aisle wearing an empire-waist Mikaella gown. It had a sweetheart neckline with horizontal ruching and was adorned with delicate flowers. Chris sported a black two-button tuxedo with an ivory shirt, vest, and tie. Following a beautiful ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests arrived at the South Gate Manor for an extravagant reception. Brandywine Floral Design created tall centerpieces of orange and pink roses, dahlias, gerbera daisies, snapdragons, tiger lilies, orange protea, and fuchsia asters. Branches holding lit votive candles created a romantic atmosphere. Cocktail hour began in the Pavilion room giving guests the option of going to sit among the beautiful garden and patio area featuring fountains. Inside, floor-to-ceiling windows allow guests to have a nice view of the exterior with a lot of natural lighting. A variety of hot and cold hors doeuvres were butler passed in addition to an Italian station, a made-to-order pasta station, an Asian station, carving station, and a seafood station. Dinner followed with a choice of prime rib, chicken cardinal, stuffed pork chop, grilled salmon, or eggplant lasagna. I dont know one single person that left hungry and unsatisfied, recalled Janessa. They also opted for a signature drink called the After School Special, which was a Washington Apple alcoholic mixture. Throughout the night the dance floor was never empty with the help of Mike LoBasso of Dash of Class Disc Jockey Entertainment. While a variety of songs were played, Mike also incorporated many of their requests into the evening, as well as classic rock. The couple shared their first dance to If I Should Fall Behind by Bruce Springsteen. In addition to providing the music, Dash of Class Disc Jockey Entertainment also supplied their lighting and video production. Mike created a photo montage that was displayed on the projection screens during dinner and also used the screens to post candid pictures of our guests, commented Chris. Joe Cartelli of Visual Image Photography captured the days events flawlessly. He was able to get the shots the couple wanted and made sure they felt comfortable on camera. After dancing and socializing, guests were treated to a three-tiered wedding cake and a full Venetian hour. They indulged in many dessert stations that featured items such as an ice cream sundae bar, candy apples, cotton candy, freshly made zeppoles and donuts, chocolate dipping fountains, a variety of cakes, Italian pastries, cookies, and much more. We made take-out boxes that had a personalized-message sticker on them and ribbon, so guests were able to take home some of the dessert, noted Janessa. In addition, guests were also sent home with personalized votive candle holders as a thank you for being a part of their wedding. When asked what their favorite memory of the day was, the couple both agreed they enjoyed spending time together as newlyweds in the limousine ride after the ceremony. Looking back on her wedding day Janessa shared advice for couples who are planning their wedding, Keep a journal or a scrapbook of all of the steps along the way. It will not only keep you organized, but it will also be a nice keepsake to remember your planning process. ContemporaryBride.com

Tania
& Douglas
Having previously dated in high school, Tania and Douglas reunited three years later, having realized that they could not live without each other. Following a romantic proposal on the top of the Empire State building, the couple eagerly began planning their June wedding. After about seven months of preparations, the big day finally came. Tania walked down the aisle of the Peoples Baptist Church in a strapless ivory wedding gown with a five-foot long tulle veil carried by her nephew. I felt as though everything and everyone around her was transparent. She was shining so brightly, that, truly, all I could see was her. I will never forget it, Douglas recalled. Pastor Mike Dinges pleasantly surprised everyone by incorporating special facts about the couple that he had learned from an informal interview with Tania and Douglas three days prior. It really made the ceremony more personal and exclusive, Tania added. After being pronounced husband and wife, the couple and their bridal party headed off to a castle in West Paterson to take pictures amid the beautiful scenery. On the way there it began raining, but once they arrived it suddenly stopped, allowing for Eternity Photo Studio to take numerous exquisite photographs. When the rain started again, the bridal party headed back in the limousine provided by Town Limousine as Douglas called The Royal Manor banquet manager, Jerry, to let him know that they would be arriving early. Since they had met with Jerry many times before, the couple knew that their unexpected early arrival wouldnt be a problem for the accommodating staff at The Royal Manor. From the moment they first visited the beautiful banquet facility, Jerry made the couple feel special. Besides loving the convenient location and the amazing contemporary dcor, the fabulous service made it even more perfect. Jerry was an amazing coordinator who helped us through every step. He was always just a phone call away, Douglas stated. The bridal party arrived at The Royal Manor to find a private cocktail hour had been set up for them in the bridal suite. It was great because they had asked us all our favorites, and they were there ready for us, Tania mentioned. They enjoyed coconut shrimp, sushi, miniature hamburgers, salads and fruits, as they relaxed before the start of their reception. As guests arrived, they enjoyed a lavish cocktail hour, while a musician played the saxophone. The room was beautifully decorated in ivory with olive green accents. Skyline Productions provided beautiful olive green uplighting on the pipe and draping surrounding the room, and special green lights shined little polka dots around the area. The introductions and the couples grand entrance into the reception received rave reviews. Tania and Douglas, working with the videographers at Eternity Photo Studio, had gone back to their high school to recreate the moment that they first met. The video was a great surprise for our guests; everyone was clapping and crying, Tania exclaimed. After their loved ones watched the video of the couple, Tania and Douglas made their big entrance with a special mix of music and lighting effects provided by Golden Note Entertainment. Just as Douglas had hoped, the introductions certainly were off the hook. Dinner was served soon thereafter, as everyone enjoyed a choice of chicken Alexander, sea bass, or steak, served with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. After indulging in such a satisfying meal, the DJ from Golden Note Entertainment played a game with the guests, luring them onto the dance floor. Then there was no stopping them. Everyone was dancing for at least an hour straight! Nobody wanted to leave, Tania proudly noted. Golden Note Entertainment played a great variety of music, from Spanish to techno to slow songs. The food was amazing, from the cocktail hour to dinner and a sweet ending with an astounding Viennese hour, Douglas stated. The wedding cake from Palermos Bakery was even better than Tania had hoped. I had one piece, and I still want more, Tania stated. She fell in love with it when she went to the cake tasting, and she knew she had to have Palermos Bakery create her wedding cake. The owner, Joanne, was extremely helpful. She had the perfect, elegant and simple design that Tania was looking for. The round, four-tiered cake was decorated with fresh flowers, as each layer was put in a stand. Buttercream icing and a fondant draping topped the remarkable wedding cake. Following their beautiful wedding, the couple headed off to The RitzCarlton in Key Biscayne, Florida for their honeymoon. They continue to thank everyone who helped make their wedding so special, especially their family, friends, and the attentive staff at The Royal Manor. ContemporaryBride.com

It was a beautiful spring day on April 18, 2009 in New York City. Matthew planned a New York City date for him and Amanda. They enjoyed a picnic in Central Park, and just as he was about to pop the question, someone laid their blanket next to them ruining the moment. Matthew resorted to a plan B. Off in the distance I saw this awesome tree with gorgeous pink and white flowers. I asked Amanda if she would like to go to the Central Park Zoo for the day. She agreed and I decided to stop in front of the tree to take some pictures, shared Matthew. As the two were taking pictures, Matthew saw an onlooker who was taking pictures as well. He asked him to take a few for them, but a couple of feet back. Just as he began capturing the two on camera, Matthew dropped to one knee and proposed. The bride happily accepted and noted, It is so special to have proposal pictures to look back on and relive the moment all over again! The newly engaged couple set their wedding date for June 11, 2010. Amanda and Matthews favorite memory from their wedding day was seeing each other for the first time at Our Lady of Peace Church. The groom reminisced, Seeing Amanda at the top of the aisle might have been the best moment of my life. She donned an Alta Grahm ball gown that featured a sweetheart neckline, a beaded bodice, a v-style back, and pockets. Matthew looked sharp waiting for his bride in a black tuxedo with an ivory vest and tie. The ceremony was presided over by Father John Polyak, a friend of Amandas family who not only baptized her but also married her parents years prior. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and their bridal party headed to the Rutgers Gardens for photographs, while their guests headed to the Stone House at Stirling Ridge for cocktail hour. Vanessa of Vanessa Joy Photography captured all of the special moments in a photojournalistic and creative style. The pictures are more than I could have ever dreamed of, exclaimed the bride. Vanessa was professional and has such a kind heart that she was a joy to have at our wedding. Toward the end of the reception she even presented us with a miniature album. Rob Adams Films worked alongside of Vanessa and captured their wedding on film. Through the use of current technology and new techniques, Rob created a modern cinematic video. He even put together a same-day edit that was shown during the reception. When Amanda and Matthew discovered what the Stone House at Stirling Ridge had to offer, they knew it was the perfect facility to host their reception. The couple liked its rustic feel, the large oak bars, vaulted ceiling, and floor to ceiling windows that overlooked a patio with fire pits. Through the planning process, Rebecca was quick to answer any questions the couple had and was very accommodating when it came time to selecting menu items. During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed a southern comfort station featuring barbeque ribs, fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and all of the fixins; a Mediterranean station; assorted cheese and vegetable display; and five passed hors doeuvres of filet mignon crisps, miniature burgers, pigs in a blanket, tuna tartar, and soup bowls of French onion and lobster bisque. I like how the Stone House had the Southern and Mediterranean stations, as it brought a little bit of each of our roots to the wedding, commented the bride. A choice of grilled filet mignon or porcini-crusted Chilean sea bass was served for dinner. During dessert, guests indulged in a three-tiered wedding cake designed by Rudys Pastry Shop. It had alternating flavors of vanilla with cannoli filling, vanilla with Bavarian cream filling, and chocolate with chocolate filling. The Craig Scott Orchestra provided live music for the celebration and kept guests dancing all night. Amanda and Matthew were introduced into the ballroom to The Way You Make Me Feel by Michael Jackson and then shared their first dance to Everything by Michael Bubl. A variety of songs were performed throughout the evening, ranging from Frank Sinatra to Bon Jovi. As the reception came to a close, a table was set up at the end of the night with sweet treats and midnight snacks for guests to enjoy for their ride home. After a wonderful night, the newlyweds were off to their honeymoon in Hawaii, where they visited Kaui and Maui. Matthew reflected, We wanted to choose a location where we could relax and still participate in some activities. For example, we watched a sun rise on a volcano, snorkeled, and even went on a helicopter ride. It was the best vacation of all time.

Kara
& Ken
Kara and Ken met while they were out with friends at the Alchemist and Barrister bar in Princeton, New Jersey. A few days after their initial meeting, the two went on their first official date at the location where they originally met, had dinner, and then walked around Palmer Square. Kara and Ken began seeing each other on a daily basis, and eleven months later the couple purchased a house. We both knew we had found the one, but we decided to do things a bit unconventionally, noted Kara. As the holiday season approached two and a half years later, Ken placed a ring box on the top of their Christmas tree and proposed on December 13, 2009. I originally had planned to propose on the walking trail next to the canal in Princeton, but it began raining before we got a block from home. I had the ring for a while and didnt want to have to wait another week, so I came up with a backup plan. Since Kara loves the holidays so much, I figured I would use that as part of our engagement, commented Ken. With less than four months until their big day, the newly engaged couple immediately began planning. Although they had to make decisions quickly, their details came together and April 16, 2010 finally arrived. When Kara and Ken visited the Shadowbrook for the first time, they not only loved the grounds of the facility, but after meeting Marc Shatsky, they were reassured that the Shadowbrook would be able to make their wedding exactly how they wanted. In addition, the couple liked how they were able to have the ceremony and reception at one location, which made it very convenient for their guests. The bride walked down the aisle wearing a strapless, ivory lace Maggie Sottero gown. It was adorned with a satin sash, a rhinestone brooch, and featured a corset-style back. She held a bridal bouquet of pink peonies, and white and pink tulips designed by Country Florists & Gifts. The groom sported a tan suit with a cream and tan tie from ChazMaTazz Formalwear. Cocktail hour was held in the Palm Terrace, where guests enjoyed a multitude of food including chafing dishes of filet tips, veal marsala, chicken scarpiello, and paella Valencia, a pasta station, and an Asian wok station, in addition to a variety of passed hors doeuvres of tempura shrimp, broccoli quiche, spring rolls, strombolis, stuffed mushrooms, miniature Reubens, empanadas, crab cakes, coconut shrimp and chicken, and much more. For dinner, guests had a choice of chateaubriand in a bordelaise sauce, rosemary herbed chicken breast, or North Atlantic salmon in a lemon dill sauce. Ken mentioned, The food was fantastic. The Shadowbrook exceeded our expectations with not only the quality of the food, but the incredible presentation and variety. We are still hearing compliments months later. Dessert served chocolate Chantilly roulade and a three-tiered yellow wedding cake with chocolate pudding and buttercream frosting, in addition to a candy bar which allowed guests to take home a variety of sweet treats in Chinese take-out containers as a thank-you for being a part of the newlyweds special day. Jason from Jason Rhee Photography captured all of the special moments from their wedding day with pictures taken at The Oyster Point Hotel for wedding preparations and locations around the Shadowbrook, including outside in their gorgeous garden area. Kara and Ken liked how Jason was professional, easy to work with, flexible, and blended in with their guests, allowing the couple to enjoy the time with their guests. For their first dance together as husband and wife, Kara and Ken opted for a less traditional song, You Sexy Thing by Hot Chocolate. Their friend, Christy Wilhelm coordinated a dance routine for them that they found to be one of their favorite memories of the day. EBE Events & Entertainment provided the music for the evening and had their guests out on the dance floor all evening. When asked what they are currently enjoying or looking forward to as a couple, the newlyweds both agreed enjoying their time together as husband and wife. Kara and Ken are currently planning to take a vacation in April 2011 to celebrate their first year anniversary.

Jennifer and Scott were looking forward to spending time with family and friends on their Bermuda vacation, but to their surprise, they discovered how love can travel a long way while aboard the Norwegian Dawn Cruise Line. After their unlikely meeting while dining at The Blue Lagoon restaurant, these two teachers from New Jersey and New York immediately hit it off and spent the rest of their trip together. Jennifer reflected, I definitely didnt think I would meet somebody on the cruise, let alone the guy I would eventually marry. As soon as I met Scott I knew we were meant to be together. Following their vacation, the two continued to visit one another until Scott moved to New Jersey. Three months later, Scott proposed to Jennifer right before his family holiday party. The newly engaged couple began planning their August 7, 2010 wedding. The ceremony took place at the brides parish, St. Catherine of Siena Church. Jennifer walked down the aisle wearing a glamorous ivory satin, Kenneth Pool gown. The dress had a low dropped waist, ball gown skirt, and was embellished with stone and silver embroidery. She carried a bouquet of ivory and white garden roses, stephanotis, and rhinestones designed by Narcissus Florals. Scott looked sharp in a traditional black tuxedo, ivory vest, shirt, and striped tie. Following a beautiful ceremony, the two newlyweds and their 250 guests headed to Clarks Landing for an elegant and classic reception. When Jennifer and Scott began planning their wedding, they knew they wanted to book a facility on or near the water. Upon seeing an advertisement for Clarks Landing, the couple immediately made an appointment, and although it was not yet built, Jennifer and Scott knew this was going to be a beautiful facility. We looked at computer generated pictures and blueprints. We also visited Clarks Landing throughout the construction process allowing us to envision the end result, commented Jennifer. The cocktail hour consisted of a variety of selections from hot and cold passed hors doeuvres to an Italian salumaria station, sushi display, risotto station, three attended chefs stations served from an open kitchen, and much more. For dinner, guests had a choice of Chateaubriand Bordelaise, chicken marquis, or a broiled seafood combo served with duchess potatoes and fresh seasonal vegetables. Scott noted, We received many compliments about the service our guests received. The servers were professional and paid special attention to our guests throughout the evening. In addition to the four-tiered red velvet with cream cheese filling cake from Bovellas Pastry Shoppe, guests indulged in a grand Viennese display featuring assorted pastries, cookies, bananas foster, crepes framboise, a chocolate fountain, and a penny candy display. Nick Cavaleri from Imagine Entertainment had guests dancing the whole night to a variety of music. The couple especially enjoyed their two-hour creativity session prior to the wedding, which allowed them to choose specific songs and plan the entire night from start to finish. Jennifer and Scott shared their first dance as newlyweds to Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat and also participated in the traditional father/daughter and mother/son dances to My Little Girl by Tim McGraw and My Wish by Rascal Flatts. The bride and groom were very pleased with Korbman & Co. Fine Photographys services. Not only was Barry highly recommended, but they liked that he was professional, easy-going, and fun to work with. Barry took many photojournalistic pictures which captured the moments as they happened. In between the ceremony and reception we went to Jenkinsons Boardwalk to take pictures. We had so much fun and Barry got so many unique pictures of us on the rides and playing games, commented Jennifer. A photo lounge was set up from Snapshot Photobooths for guests to take boardwalk-style pictures with props. Not only did guests receive a copy of their pictures, but they were able to put a duplicate in a keepsake scrapbook along with their message to the newlyweds. At the end of the night, a Bay Berry Ice Cream truck was set up outside of Clarks Landing serving ice cream to guests as they left the wedding. A framed chalk board on an easel accompanied the truck that read, Sweet Dreams, Love Jennifer and Scott. Following their big day, the newlyweds escaped to Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun in Playa del Carmen, Mexico for their honeymoon. The couple mentioned, We have so many great memories from our wedding day that well never forget. Clarks Landing was a spectacular reception site. ContemporaryBride.com

It was a matter of fate when Amanda and Danny ran into each other at a local bar in October of 2007. Having known each other from high school, the two began catching up and quickly realized how much they had in common. They soon began dating, and it wasnt too long before Amanda knew he was the one. We really fell in love quickly, but I knew that I wanted to marry him after being together for only ten months, Amanda commented. Less than two years after that magical night in the bar and with a secret idea in mind, Danny planned an end-of-the-summer party for his and Amandas family and friends. He knew September 13, 2009 would be the perfect date, as a country fair was in town at a nearby park. When the day finally arrived, the weather was perfect and everyone arrived at the party ready to say good-bye to summer. No one knew what was really going to happen that day besides my parents and hers, Danny recalls. At 3pm, just as planned, an airplane flew overhead. Everyone looked up to see that the plane was carrying a banner that read: Amanda, I love you. Will you marry me? Danny. As Amanda looked up and read the banner, Danny got down on one knee with a beautiful ring in hand. When she finally realized that she was Amanda and I was Danny, she turned around to find me looking at her. I told her, with a raspy voice, that I loved her and asked her to marry me, Danny remembers. Amanda, in delightful shock, exclaimed Yes! And the two began planning their May wedding. From the moment the couple visited the Sterling Ballroom at the Holiday Inn of Tinton Falls, they knew that this would be the perfect venue for their wedding. The staff was so professional and polite, and they trusted them completely. In addition, Amanda and Danny loved the spacious ballroom and the beautiful colors of the room. The dance floor was a beautiful dark cherry wood surrounded by a gorgeous aqua and brown carpet. We really loved the ballroom, but the moment we found out that they were building an outdoor ceremony area, we knew this was it, Amanda stated. Finally the big day arrived. The outdoor ceremony area turned out to be even more beautiful than they imagined. The ballroom doors opened to a path of pavers leading the way to the gazebo. Flowers outlined the aisle as Amanda walked down it in an ivory, strapless Private Label by G wedding dress. She donned a simple ivory tulle veil, and elegant satin flowers surrounded her curly side-ponytail. She met Danny under the floraldecorated gazebo, and with Father John Michael OSullivan officiating, the two exchanged their self-written vows, and tied the knot on a beautiful May afternoon amid the trees. Following the ceremony, the staff opened the doors and guests began enjoying the fabulous cocktail hour. Butlers served hors doeuvres on silver trays as the guests mingled and enjoyed the many food choices offered. Chef-attended stations served pepper steak strips, tortellini in a roasted garlic sauce, and Hawaiian chicken, while carving stations included turkey breast and pepper-crusted pork loin. Dinner followed with a choice of chicken francaise or roast prime rib of beef au jus served with honey glazed carrots and garlic mashed potatoes. The lavish meal concluded with chocolate covered strawberries and a vanilla wedding cake with Cannoli cream filling and buttercream icing. The cake was beautiful. I gave the Holiday Inn a picture of what I wanted it to look like, and they designed it perfectly! Plus it was delicious, Amanda recalls. Xplosive Entertainment kept guests energized and dancing throughout the night to a variety of musical genres. The happy couple shared their first dance to All I Want by Toad The Wet Sprocket. Our wedding song was definitely unique. Although it is not a traditional wedding song, it has significant meaning to us, Danny stated. The card Amanda gave Danny on their first Valentines Day together played that song, and it stuck with them through their relationship. There were no doubts in their minds that they would share their first dance as husband and wife to that song. Amanda and Dannys special day was beautifully captured by Kevin Hodapp Video Productions and Peter Collura Photography. The couple commented that both companies did a great job. They made us feel comfortable, and they didnt disturb us one bit, Amanda commented. Looking back on their stunning wedding pictures, Danny commented, Im never going to forget the way Amanda glowed that day or the way I feel and felt, but the photographs captured really great moments that we will cherish forever. I would definitely recommend Peter Collura to anyone looking for quality work. Guests joined Amanda and Danny in the final dance of the night to Closer to You by The Wallflowers. Following the reception, Amanda and Danny headed off to the Hotel Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana for an all-inclusive honeymoon in paradise. ContemporaryBride.com

Diane
& Jay
The magic of Christmas brings warmth, love, and joy to families and friends, but for Diane and Jay, the happiest time of the year became an even more special occasion they would look back on for years to come. On December 25, 2009, Diane opened the last present from Jay to reveal a silk Chinese takeout box with a simple solitaire engagement ring. My family cant keep a secret, so I would have expected to have a clue. When he proposed in front of my family I was stunned, shared Diane. The wedding date was set for July 31, 2010, and the couple immediately began planning. The ceremony and reception were held at The Berkeley Plaza. Chosen for its excellent reputation, experienced and accommodating staff, Diane and Jay were confident this banquet facility would execute their wedding perfectly. The couple especially loved the layout of large ballrooms accented with crystal chandeliers. Diane walked down the aisle donning a white, A-line gown, with a medium scalloped train purchased from Davids Bridal. She carried a cascading bouquet of white roses and guava gerbera daisies designed by Addalias Floral Gardens. Jay sported a traditional tuxedo from Mens Wearhouse. The groom reminisced, Seeing Diane walk down the aisle with her dad was my favorite memory of the day. She looked beautiful. Amid the gardens under the gazebo the couple exchanged vows as their 180 guests watched with love in their eyes. For a lavish cocktail hour, guests enjoyed a variety of food including a roast loin of pork carving station, Mediterranean station, a cold antipasto display, hot mixed grill assortments of fried calamari, chicken carbonara, filet mignon tips and mushrooms, and a wide selection of passed hors doeuvres ranging from clams casino, potato pancakes, to sesame chicken skewers, and much more. three-tiered cake was vanilla with custard and chocolate mousse. The food came out hot, was served timely, and tasted great, commented Diane. The staff takes pride in their work, and they did an amazing job, added Jay. LJ Productions kept the party going all night. Jack played a variety of music including Portuguese and Peruvian songs to honor their heritages, as well as many songs to accommodate all generations. Jack was outstanding. I had used them at other events and was sure they would be excellent at our wedding, noted Diane. The newlyweds held the spotlight to When You Say Nothing At All by Alison Krauss. In addition to providing the entertainment for the evening, LJ Productions also captured the special moments on video. Photography was taken throughout the day by Elise of EJK Photography. After seeing Elises portfolio, Diane and Jay not only liked her work, but realized that she adapts her style to meet the needs of her client. Prior to the big day, the couple worked with Elise during an engagement shoot at the New Jersey Botanical Gardens. The majority of the pictures were taken at the Berkeley Plaza the day of the wedding on the staircase and in the gazebo, as well as during the ceremony and reception, commented the bride. Following the wedding, the newlyweds had a day-after shoot at Sandy Hook, New Jersey where they were able to let loose and have fun by taking pictures in the sand and in the water. Diane noted that the dress was cleaned and will be donated to BridesAgainstBreastCancer.org. Instead of a traditional guestbook and favors, a photobooth from ShutterBooth was set up during the reception for guests to take unlimited pictures. Two copies were made, one for the guests to keep and one that was put into a scrapbook for guests to write their best wishes and advice next to their pictures. In addition to the ShutterBooth, Diane and Jay also made a donation to St. Judes Charity. The newlyweds are currently looking forward to traveling together and eventually starting a family in the future. When asked if they have any advice for couples planning their wedding, Diane responded, Make sure you share the tasks of planning your wedding.

Vita and Jason were at his beach house on Long Beach Island to celebrate Fourth of July, but little did Vita know they would be soon celebrating another occasion. Jason asked Vita to take a ride with him on the boat, but when his brother wanted to tag along with them, Jason quickly pulled away leaving his brother behind. On the way back to the house, he asked Vita to steer the boat, and when she looked over at him, Jason was down on one knee. I was confused at first and thought Jason was looking for something on the boats floor. When I realized what was happening I was shocked and excited, Vita reminisced. The wedding date was set for August 13, 2010. While some people fear that the number 13 brings bad fortune, the couples wedding was perfect, from the gorgeous weather to all of the finest details. The ceremony took place at Immaculate Heart of Mary, the parish in which Vita made all of her sacraments. The bride walked down the aisle in a stunning Enzoani mermaid-style gown. It was all lace, had a long train, and was embellished with a flowered belt. She held a bouquet of cream hydrangea, white lizianthus, Eskimo and vendela roses, and white Majolica spray roses. Vita took my breath away when I first saw her, recollected Jason. The groom looked sharp in a black Tony Conte tuxedo with a white shirt, ivory vest, and tie. Chosen for the gorgeous grounds, pristine landscaping, and a beautiful ballroom with high ceilings, a scene of a blue sky and clouds, and crystal chandeliers, as well as a notable reputation for superior service and exquisite food, the reception was held at Naninas in the Park. In addition, the couple was impressed with the warm and welcoming staff and how helpful they were from beginning to end. The staff was very accommodating, was there with anything we needed, and were willing to go the extra mile for us, noted Jason. Cocktail hour served a variety of selections including a sushi bar, barbeque station, seafood bar, cheese and wine station, antipasto, pasta station, oriental station, saut seafood station, vegetable station, and ContemporaryBride.com
marinated station. For dinner, guests were served a double entre of swordfish with a rock shrimp sauce baked into a pastry shell and chateau briand with the option to switch either of them out for eggplant rollatini or chicken sorrentino. The food was out of this world, and guests are still talking about how much food there was, commented Vita. For dessert, the guests of honor opted for a full Venetian hour where guests indulged in zeppolis stuffed with Oreo cookies, a crepe station, an ice cream bar, a chocolate fountain with various dippings, a Belgium waffle station, a gelato bar, and chocolate martinis. The four-tiered wedding cake, designed by Palermos Bakery, had a dot pattern on two layers, while the other two layers were adorned with a fondant ribbon and antique brooch. Dave and PJ from The Studio Photographers captured the days events flawlessly. Having seen their work at a previous wedding Vita attended, she immediately fell in love with their unique style. The couple liked how Dave and PJ were laid back, organized, made them feel comfortable in front of the camera, and how they were able to get their large bridal party to cooperate. Throughout the reception, The Infernos entertained guests by playing a variety of live music that accommodated every age from the five-yearold flower girls to their grandparents. Vita and Jason shared their first dance to Thank You For Loving Me by Bon Jovi and also participated in the parent dances to I Loved Her First by Heartland and My Wish by Rascal Flatts. At the end of the celebration, guests were given homemade wine as a thank you for being a part of their special day. Reflecting on their wedding day, Vitas favorite memory was walking down the aisle, while Jason enjoyed being announced into the reception as Mr. and Mrs. Tangorra for the first time. After it was all said and done, the bride offered a piece of advice for couples that are planning their wedding. Try to keep things in perspective, and keep things organized and on track by following a check list.

Wedding Invitations
Your Guests First Glimpse of Your Special Day
By Carly Prakapas
Jaynees Party
When caught up in the excitement of wedding planning, your invitations may not be the first things that come to mind. Your gown, the banquet facility, your honeymoon: These are the areas that usually get the most attention. However, invitations are quite important. A sensational invitation sets the stage for a successful event, says Jaynee Bucco, an experienced consultant and owner of invitation design company, Jaynees Party. A creative, personalized invitation not only gives guests an impression of you as a couple, but it also gives them an idea of what to expect on your wedding day. Make sure your invitations portray the image you are looking for without causing you any stress along the way.
Etiquette
Whether your wedding is going to be small and intimate or a large celebration with everyone you know, your guest list is something that you have probably been pondering over for a while. Think about the people you communicate with most often. Your friends, family and coworkers may all come to mind, but determining who you would like to share your most special day with may be the difficult part. Your guest list needs to consist of people you know well, care about, and who love you and your groom. When you are thinking about your coworkers or business partners, invite each person because of your shared friendship, not merely your association through work. Keep in mind that anyone invited to your Abella Studios engagement party or bridal shower should also be invited to your wedding. When it comes to invitations, the most common concern brides have is in regard to wording etiquette. Many brides want their main invitation to be traditional, Jaynee Bucco comments. However, I do believe that you can bend the traditional wording, as long as you incorporate three important things: who is inviting the guests, the type of function, and the date, time, and place, she adds. However, if you wish to stick to tradition, any experienced wedding invitation designer will be able to answer questions you may have about wording etiquette. The Studio Photographers

Be Green
If you are worried about remaining environmentally friendly, a variety of invitation companies will work with you and make it easier for you to go green. Find a company that prints on recyclable or 100% cotton paper. This not only saves trees but is energy efficient and reduces waste. To cut back on your paper usage, perhaps send one card to an entire family or eliminate the RSVP card, asking guests to call or e-mail their replies rather than mailing them. But dont forget, even if you are cutting back, it is still important to order about ten extra invitations for keepsakes and unexpected additions to your guest list. You dont want to be stuck at the last minute without an invitation for your distant Aunt Helen!
Theme
Romeo Creations
It is essential to put a great deal of thought and care into the design of your invitations. They should reflect the theme of your wedding so loved ones can get an idea of whats in store for them during your ceremony and reception. Do the colors represent the season in which your special day will take place? Do the images illustrate the unique location of your wedding? Do the palm trees signify a destination wedding? Stay away from generic white paper with a black font and let your personality shine through your invitations with intricate and detailed designs that cater to the theme of your wedding. You can even enhance your invitation by sealing it with a sticker or a wax seal that reflects your theme and personality. After all, this is your big day. Make your invitations unique and special. Just keep in mind that prior to stamping, you should bring a sample of the invitation to the post office to ensure correct postage. Square, heavy, oversized, or dark envelopes sometimes require extra postage.
Jaynees Party
One-On-One Service
With any invitation company, order samples to ensure acceptable quality, and make sure you see a proof before you purchase. You want to be sure that your invitations are exactly what you want before you have all of them printed. Working one-on-one with an invitation designer may be helpful in making sure you get the invitations you desire. Your designer can meet with you and your fianc to help make your vision come to life. He or she can get to know you as a couple, ensuring that your invitations are a reflection of your personalities and style. Explain the theme and tone of your wedding to your designer to make sure that your invitations give a fitting impression of what is to come on the day you tie the knot.
Perfect Timing
You want to be certain that everyone you care about will be with you on your special day. Ensure that your guests keep the day of your wedding open by sending out save-thedate cards. You can really get creative with these, sending out anything from elegant cards to fun magnets that can serve as a daily reminder on the refrigerator. Perhaps you want to include a picture of you and your fianc on your save-the-date. Schedule an engagement photo shoot with a wedding photographer. These pictures will not only be perfect for your save-the-dates, but they will also be a great trial to see if this is the photographer you would like to hire for your big day. Make sure you have your invitations prepared in time. They should be ordered at least three to four months before you want to send them out (five to six weeks prior to the wedding date) so they can be assembled, addressed, and mailed. Everything takes time, and you dont want to be stressed out at the last minute. Stick to a detailed wedding preparation timeline, and youll be well on your way to stress-free planning.

Your wedding day is not like picture day in grammar school. There are no second chances, no re-shoots. And unlike your fifth-grade portrait, your wedding album is going to be around forever, a cherished memento of a blessed event. And here's the good news: Provided that you follow a few basic rules of the beauty trade, youyes, you!can get your wedding-day makeup down pat, leaving yourself a bride with no reason to blush but for sheer happiness.
Step-By-Step
I will walk you through the process that I find works best in making any bride's face a head turner.
ContemporaryBride.com
171
The next step is to take a nice, light neutral-tone eye shadow, and blend this across the entire eye area on top of the shadow base. Use the tone that you would use as a highlighter. No matter what skin tone you have, just look for a neutral shade that is three or four shades lighter than your skin. (For example, if your skin is medium tone, use a cream tone. If your skin is dark, you might want to use a camel tone. And so on...) I always do the eyeliner at this point because I feel that it allows me to prejudge the balance of the eyeand to know just how far to go with the rest of the shadow. I like to use a cake liner on brides because it won't melt like a pencil and won't run like one, either. Using a small eyeliner brush, I start by slowly making a line from the inside all the way out to the end. And I try to make the outer edge a little bit thicker, and slowly pull it upward. After this dries, I smudge a little of the same tone eye shadow over the liner. Essentially, this blends the line and softens it. This also helps the liner to do what it is supposed to: Make the lashes look fuller. At this point, I step back and look at the face full-on, so I can start to see the bridal face developing. By doing so, I can make any alterations or additions that need to be made. Now, on to the crease. Take a medium neutral shade and follow the crease bone across softly, just to add depth. Don't worry if it seems like there is no colorthere shouldn't be. You just want the makeup to bring out the color of your eyes. However, if you feel that you need more definition, you can add a little bit of a blush shade or bronze tone to the crease bone, blending upward.
best because you have to apply it with a brush. I use the concealer brush that I have designed for this very purpose. If you are looking directly into a mirror, you will see some darkness around the eye area, and maybe a little bit more here or there (blemishes or scars or what have you). So look carefully and see what you find. Then use the brush to slowly pat concealer onto the area in question. If you must, use the foundation sponge to pat and blend the area. When you're done, again, sit back and take a good, long look at your face. If you like what you see, move on to powder. Use a powder puff to press powder into the skin, thereby setting the makeup and keeping it in place all day (with minor touchups, of course). If you use the large powder brush to set makeup, you are only setting yourself up to fail; the large powder brushes work only on surface makeup. The makeup underneath will warm with your body temperature and start to move. This will cause you problems in no time at all. So get it right here and now, and then, later, it will need little or no attention. (Just a note: If your powder or concealer is the wrong color, it can ruin the perfect shade of foundation; so again, make sure everything is complementary.)
Raising Eyebrows
Bet you thought I had forgotten. Well, I didn't; I just don't like to do things twice. So, after the foundation is in place and set, we can apply the perfect eyebrows and not have to mess with them again. This way, they stay strong and bring focus to the eyes. (After all, they are the frames for the eyes, right? Right.) I use a spoolie brush, or you can use a clean tooth brush to comb all of the eyebrow hairs up and out. (By now, you should have had any extraneous hairs plucked or waxed.) Then I take a soft pencil or powder and slowly fill in the brows, keeping the brush going through them, as I go, to ensure that they stay soft and naturallooking. Remember: We are not changing the eyebrows, just cleaning and sharpening them up. Assuming that they are even, you can move on.
Lip-Smacking Good
The proper shade of lip color is most important. Your wedding photos are going to follow you around for a long time, so you definitely want to make sure that your lip shade is one that will always make you smile. The lip pencil and gloss should be coordinated or matched, depending on your personal preference. Follow the natural lip line with the pencil, then color in the lip with the pencil, and fill it in with the lipstick. Finally, add a little gloss at the center for a highlight.

The Essentials
Trying to find the perfect dress to fit the body, personalities, and budget of your entire party may seem out of reach, but with a few essentials kept in mind, its a task that can surely be accomplished, stress-free and all smiles!
Divulged
Start by taking some solo time or time with your Maid or Matron of Honor to weed through the endless amounts of dress options before presenting any possibilities to your girls. Narrowing down your selections and being mindful of budgets before inviting the varied opinions of everyone in your bridal party will save you from having to say no, and thats not really what I had in mind to the people who mean the most to you. As Manfredonia reminds his brides, Its just as important to find a style that evokes the same feel as your wedding dress, but of course, doesnt look too similar. After all, it is your day for happily ever after. Once youve managed to hone in on a few styles that you adore and think your bridesmaids will equally adore, invite them to check out what youve found. Make a day of it! Start with brunch and then a visit to retailers who carry the dresses youd like for them to try on. Bridesmaids geographically out of reach? Find a retailer close to them where they can take a peek at your picks. Make sure to have chosen dresses with the shapes and sizes of your entire bridal party in mind. Take this opportunity to showcase your most valued friends and family members in fabrics and cuts that are flattering, comfortable, and attractive for everyone. Why not give the longer gowns a run for their money by embracing the notion of tea length dresses? As Manfredonia reminds his clients, value and versatility are essential to happy and beautiful bridesmaids.

The vows have been exchanged, the party has ended, and you have finally finished sending out your thank you cards to your guests. You are just about finished organizing your new appliances and putting away your keepsakes; however the wedding gown you stepped into for that one magical night is still lurking in your closet. You keep thinking to yourself, What am I going to do with that gorgeous dress? While some brides will continue to preserve their gown, some will rebel and opt for an alternative and Trash the Dress (TTD). Las Vegas Photographer John Michael Cooper is credited with photographing the first Trash the Dress photo. He created this dynamic idea that gave not only newlyweds the chance to do something fun, different, and, above all, unique. This original concept immediately took flight and became one of the hottest new trends in the wedding industry. Trash the Dress is a less careful approach for brides to step into their wedding dress one final time, for an opportunity to be photographed in a dramatic and dynamic way. Jessica Lauren Photography notes that Trashing the dress is a perfect opportunity for brides to get into that gown one more time and have a fun, unique photo shoot that they will never forget! As a photographer, it gives me the opportunity to think outside the box, and capture creative photographs that brides would not normally take on their wedding day. It also allows me to reconnect with my clients, in a much more relaxed setting, and that is just an added bonus for me personally." 192

Whether you are a bride-to-be or recently married, you are familiar with how consumed your wedding day can be by timelines. Although you try to get all of the photographs you want captured for your special day you may be nervous about ruining your hair, makeup, and are certainly very cautious about making sure your gown stays as clean as possible. With a Trash the Dress session, you are more likely to let loose and enjoy the moment, as you will be at ease and not so stressed. There will not be any time constraints, and you will have the ability to go to any beautiful localerun into the ocean, roll around in the mud, and maybe even use paint if you enjoy interior design. The sky is the limit as to where and how you would like to be photographed. "Trashing the dress was a really unforgettable experience for my husband and I. It gave me a reason to wear my dress a second time and take some really creative beautiful pictures. Jessica Lauren Photography made the whole experience fun and easy going. I am so glad that we decided to Trash the Dress, not only because we have amazing pictures, but also because the dress was not really trashed after all. We dropped off our "trashed" wedding clothes at the dry cleaners the next day and they were returned looking new again. I highly recommend brides to trash their dress. I would do it all over again if I could," commented bride, Jamie Souza-Page. The key is to have fun based on your personality and create portraits that are unique to you. Not only will you have a great time, but your photographers will have more flexibility and will be more creative without limitations. Your wedding day photographs and Trash the Dress session will be a fabulous keepsake as a reminder of how beautiful you looked.

Keally
& Dan
While life may be short, one thing for certain is that Keally and Dans love falls nothing short of sweet and grows stronger every day. The two began dating in high school and were lucky enough to continue their education together at Rutgers University. A year after graduating in 2008, Dan decided to pop the question early one morning at Avon Beach, New Jersey. When the newly engaged couple began planning their wedding, they both knew they wanted it to be a fun, casual, and personalized affair. Keally was a do-it-yourself bride and along with Dan, she created the table numbers, guest table cards, guest book, and wooden letters that read, K & D and I Do. They knew exactly what they wanted, and the precise attention to detail allowed guests to catch a glimpse of who they are as a couple. Our do it yourself projects made our wedding bright, lively, and energetic. It took a lot of work to make everything perfect, and although we wouldnt admit it at the time, it was certainly worth it, said Dan. Chosen for its old-fashioned style and renaissance feel, the ceremony took place at St. Peters Catholic Church, right in the heart of Rutgers University. Dans favorite memory of the day was watching his bride walk down the aisle escorted by her father. Keally took my breath away when I first saw her, reminisced Dan. The bride wore a trumpet-style gown in ivory lace, purchased from Exquisite Bride. It had a sweetheart neckline, satin buttons down the back, and a long train. She wore yellow, red, and green colorful peep-toe shoes, donned with a rosette on the front. The groom looked sharp as he waited for his bride to walk down the aisle in a gray suit, ivory shirt, and black tie from Mens Wearhouse. Following a wonderful ceremony, guests made their way to the historic Cranbury Inn for the reception. An intimate colonial estate with natural wood, antique clocks, oil paintings, and a unique cathedral-like addition with many windows allowing natural light to shine through, this banquet facility was the perfect choice for a night of celebrating Keally and Dans rustic wedding. We were blown away by how beautiful and historic the Cranbury Inn was, especially the newly finished area. The owner, Tom, also sounded like he knew exactly what he was talking about when it came to running a wedding, noted Dan. Cocktail hour began with fifteen passed hors doeuvres of scallops wrapped in bacon, shrimp cocktail, Swedish meatballs, quiche, mozzarella sticks, miniature hot dogs, cheese puffs, fried mushrooms, and much more. Guests were given a choice of filet mignon, salmon, or chicken accompanied by garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. The food was amazing. It was plentiful, well-timed, and was served hot and fresh. The staff at the Cranbury Inn all worked really hard. There was always someone there to help, and none of our guests had to wait for anything. commented the bride. Designed by Mendokers Bakery, the wedding cake was a three-tiered simple polka dot design with yellow ribbons on each tier, and a bride and groom cake topper. Its flavor was chocolate and vanilla with buttercream frosting. Elegant Ensembles kept the party going all night long after the newlyweds held the spotlight to What You Love, You Must Love Now by The Six Parts Seven. They then participated in a combined parent dance to What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong. Guests were up out of their seats the rest of the night dancing to a variety of music from 80s to contemporary. We let our DJ have free reign, and he knew exactly what to play at the appropriate times. He did an awesome job, remarked Keally. From the bride and groom preparations to the ceremony and throughout the reception, Amy Diamond from Adia Photography, LLC captured the special moments flawlessly in a photojournalistic style. The couple was happy that Amy was open to their ideas and allowed them to use the props from pinwheels, mustaches on sticks, and a banner that spelled out Love, all of which Keally made. The couple is very happy with how their pictures came out. The bride also mentioned that her makeup looked beautiful in the pictures thanks to Lauren Iavarone of Expert Makeup Artistry. At the end of the night, guests treated themselves to a homemade candy buffet put together by Keallys best guy. Made with a variety of different candy in the color scheme to match the wedding, guests were able to indulge in sweet treats of candy sticks, mint nonpareils, rock candy, apple rings, and even baked goods of chocolate covered pretzels and rice crispy bites. Following their beautiful summer wedding, the couple escaped to the Bucuti Beach Resort in Aruba for eight days and seven nights. When asked what the most exciting part of planning their wedding was, Keally enjoyed spending time planning the most important day with her husband and watching everyones hard work come together in the end. Kate
&
Chris
Kate and Chris met their freshman year at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Throughout college, the two were best friends, but it wasnt until after graduation that they decided to take their relationship to the next level. About three years later, on August 5, 2009, Kate and her brother, Cal planned on going to dinner after work, but little did Kate know, Cal was in on the biggest surprise of her life. In an attempt to get her on Fairleigh Dickinson Universitys campus, Cal told Kate to meet him there since he was finishing up work. I had emailed Chris asking if he would be able to meet us for dinner, but he told me he couldnt make it, Kate shared. As she walked through the gardens behind the mansion, Kate found Chris standing at the top of the stairs leading up to the building. Once she approached him, Chris got down on one knee and proposed with a custom-made ring that incorporated his grandmothers diamond from her engagement ring. It felt right asking Kate to marry me at the place we first met. I have FDU to thank for introducing me to her, Chris reminisced. The wedding date was set for September 10, 2010. The bride woke up at the Westin in Jersey City to a beautiful sun rising above Manhattan. Kate, her bridesmaids, and family enjoyed the morning by being pampered from head to toe, while enjoying mimosas and listening to music. After hair and makeup was completed by Amanda, Lina, and Christina, of Bamboo Salon, the bride put on her breathtaking Pronovias couture gown. The ceremony took place at The Catholic Community of Saints Peter & Paul, which reminded the couple of their parishes from home. They not only liked the structure of the church and its historical charm, but how welcome they felt after speaking with Father Benny Prado. Following Catholic tradition, the couple saw each other for the first time as Kate walked down the aisle, escorted by her father. When I saw Kate I was so excited, and all of my nerves went away. She looked amazing and it was a moment I will never forget, shared Chris. After a beautiful mass presided over by Father Benny Prado and Deacon Don DeLorenzo, it was time to get the party started at Seasons. When Kate and Chris began planning their wedding, they knew they wanted a reception facility that is known for its outstanding service, delectable food, and would offer a memorable experience from beginning ContemporaryBride.com
to end. Seasons provided an elegant atmosphere with a large ballroom to accommodate all of the couples guests, marble floors, and crystal chandeliers, as well as superior service. Guests enjoyed an extravagant cocktail hour serving a variety of food including 28 passed hors doeuvres, a carving station, sushi and raw bar, pasta station, French fry station, international cheese and fruit display, frozen vodka and caviar station, and a variety of chafing dishes of miniature burgers, Peking duck, mozzarella en corozza, crab cakes, baked clams, and more. A choice of sliced filet mignon, potato-crusted Chilean sea bass, or French-cut half chicken was served for dinner. A custom dessert plate with an individual cheesecake bite, a warm brownie, and a chocolate-covered strawberry was served for dessert, in addition to the vanilla with hazelnut and chocolate fudge filling wedding cake designed by Palermos Bakery. It was four-tiered adorned with Swiss dots and a black satin ribbon at the bottom of each layer. Seasons provided excellent service throughout the planning process and up until the end of the reception. The staff at Seasons was outstanding. We received many compliments on how great everyone was, Chris noted. The food was absolutely amazing. Our guests were not only taken care of but their stomachs were satisfied as well, added Kate. Vanessa from Vanessa Joy Photography captured the wedding day perfectly in a photojournalistic approach. Through her artistic style and caring personality, she took many pictures that came out incredible. Kate and Chris were equally happy working with Rob Adams Films. Rob blended in with their guests, made them feel comfortable on camera, and through his cinematic techniques, the couples wedding video tells a timeless story in a modern way. Guests danced the night away to a variety of music from the 70s, 80s, 90s and today provided by Platinum Entertainment. Kate and Chris held the spotlight to Then by Brad Paisley for their first dance as newlyweds and also participated in the traditional parent dances. Guests of all ages danced up until the last songs of the evening, which were Save The Last Dance For Me by Michael Bubl and New York, New York by Frank Sinatra. Following their celebration, Kate and Chris traveled throughout Italy for their honeymoon, where they visited Florence, Gaiole, Positano, and Rome.

With plans to go to a Halloween-themed wedding the next day, Kelly headed over to Steves house to finalize their costumes. The couple was excited to dress as David and Victoria Beckham, and Kelly had a great idea to complete her costume with a huge, fake ring. But when she got to Steves house that day, she soon found out that he had something for her to wear with her costume. The next thing she knew, Steve was on one knee with a beautiful ring in hand. I was so surprised I was shaking. It was absolutely perfect, Kelly recalled. Kelly and Steve began planning their wedding right away and knowing that they wanted their reception to resemble a modern South Beach lounge, the Westmount Country Club immediately came to mind. Not only did I enjoy my previous experiences there, but other people we spoke with had nothing but good things to say about it. The food and service were excellent, Steve stated. Kelly added, We first walked in and the cocktail lounge looked just like we had been picturing. The modern look, beautiful lighting, and chic couches we fell in love with it right away. Steves favorite memory of the day was when the large doors of the church opened, and there stood Kelly with the most beautiful smile on her face. She walked down the aisle of the Immaculate Conception Church in a strapless bridal gown embellished with Swarovski crystals, an elegant cathedral veil, and turquoise Christian Louboutin heels. Steve stood proudly in a black tuxedo with a white tie as he eagerly awaited his stunning bride to arrive by his side. Kelly met her groom at the altar, and the couple tied the knot. Following the ceremony, the guests headed over to the Westmount Country Club. Upon entering the banquet facility, they felt as though they had been whisked off to South Beach. The room was appropriately decorated in turquoise and white. Atlas Florist created beautiful centerpieces, a tall illuminated cylinder with turquoise stones, and calla lilies. Couches and blue lit cabanas filled the room, as candles flickered in the intimate lighting. The escort cards were made from Miami postcards, and all the tables were named after hotels and streets in South Beach. Tropical Beat, a steel drum band, played in the background as guests enjoyed a lavish cocktail hour, including jumbo shrimp, a pasta station, sushi station, Tuscan table, and an outside grill that served Kobe beef sliders and miniature hot dogs on a veranda right outside of the main cocktail room. Nearby, a tropical bar was set up with Pia Coladas and other frozen drinks for guests to enjoy. After the cocktail hour, a large curtain was lifted to let everyone enter the main ballroom. It took my breath away when they pulled the curtain back. It looked just like Miami, Kelly commented. Throughout the reception, a photo booth was set up for everyone to enjoy. As pictures were taken, they were put in a guestbook, and each person signed next to their photographs, creating a wonderful keepsake for the couple to cherish. For dinner, everyone had a choice between roasted prime rib, chicken roulade, sea bass, or eggplant parmigiana al forno. A magnificent dessert display soon followed, featuring a floating Viennese table surrounding the dance floor, a creative ice cream grooms cake decorated with a picture of the couples French Bulldog, Rocco, an ice cream station, and a spectacular wedding cake. Palermos Bakery created the beautiful four square off-set tiered cake. Their wonderful creation included crystal rhinestones on two tiers and a turquoise ribbon on the others. Layers included chocolate with chocolate fudge filling and vanilla with a raspberry filling, all topped with light buttercream icing. Palermos Bakery was great to work with. They were fast, full of ideas, and they executed it perfectly. Plus, the cake was delicious, Kelly recalled. The couple is still receiving compliments about their band. The Rhythm Shop kept everyone thoroughly entertained, playing a variety of music genres from new pop songs to wedding classics. Guests loved that the band interacted with them, allowing them to sing along in the microphone or even play a conga drum. Milton Gil Photographers recorded Kelly and Steves wedding day with professional photography and videography. The couple agreed that their pictures are unbelievable, and everyone they worked with at the studio was incredibly accommodating and easy to work with. I would recommend them to anybody! I love my pictures so much. Every time I look at them I wish I could go back and relive it again. It was a great day, and I thank Milton Gil Photographers for capturing it so perfectly, Kelly commented. Guests left the reception with homemade chocolate shaped as paws and dog bones and a note that said a donation had been made to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Following their wedding, Kelly and Steve honeymooned for two weeks in Hawaii. They continue to look back on their wedding day with fond memories as they enjoy their new life together. When Michelle and Antonino began planning their July 17, 2010 destination wedding, there were no doubts that they wanted to go back to the location where they became engaged a year earlierAruba. The night of our engagement began perfectly, reminisced Michelle. Following a fabulous meal at the Rius Krystal Restaurant, the couple went for a moonlight beach walk under the stars. Just as they were enjoying each others company, Antonino stopped and asked Michelle if she saw a shiny object radiating from the sand. Antonino reached down to pick it up and proposed on April 12, 2009. I was so nervous to ask Michelle, but confident that she was the person that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, shared the groom. With a little over a year until their big day, Michelle and Antonino had plenty of time to plan their intimate island wedding of five immediate family members, while still being able to enjoy their engagement. They loved Aruba for its beautiful warm weather, refreshing trade wind breezes, white sand, blue water, and a variety of activities to participate in from a pirate ship tour, parasailing, party boats, romantic boat rides, scuba diving, to much more. Additionally, the couple raved about how the staff at the Riu Palace was personable and so attentive. Our wedding coordinator, Carolina Hernandez was so easy to contact. Whatever we needed she was there to help us, and everything we requested she got for us without hesitation. We couldnt have asked for anyone better, Michelle added. Amid a Spanish Castle themed resort with rounded archways, long sweeping hallways, high cathedral ceilings, large low slung ceiling fans, two large terraces, fountains, pool, and the breathtaking beach, the couple couldnt have imagined a better location than the Hotel Riu Palace Aruba. The morning of their wedding was calm as the two were able to relax by the pool. By late afternoon, they began to get ready, and once Michelles hair and makeup was completed at the Vita Novus Spa and
Salon, she slipped into her beautiful La Femme gown. It was a simple, non-traditional ivory silk gown with some splashes of color and was adorned with jeweled embellishments around the waist. Antonino sported white linen pants and a white long-sleeved shirt from Banana Republic. As the groom gazed out into the sunset across the ocean, his bride was escorted down the aisle by her father. Antonino was the last to see Michelle and the beautiful, heartfelt ceremony began. Once vows were exchanged, their guests concluded the ceremony with a joyous applause. The reception began with a cocktail hour serving passed hors doeuvres along with a champagne toast. Dinner followed with chicken ceasar salad and an entre choice of steak or a seafood combination of lobster tails and crab legs accompanied with roasted vegetables. The wedding cake was a simple one-tier round chocolate cake adorned with orange native flowers. Throughout the days events, Franco Sneek was able to capture the special moments in photographs. Recommended by their wedding coordinator, Carolina Hernandez, the couple couldnt have been happier with how their pictures turned out. Franco was easy and fun to work with. He is talented, creative, and went way above and beyond what was expected. He took so much time and energy in getting the shots to look amazing. We cant explain enough just how incredible he was both professionally and personally, Antonino commented. For the evening, the couple opted to put the music together themselves, and the Hotel Riu Palace set up the sound system to make sure it was perfect. The couple shared their first dance together as newlyweds to Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. They also participated in the traditional mother-son and father-daughter dances. Once the celebration ended, the couple stayed in Aruba for three days to relax and enjoy their time together as newlyweds. Michelle and Antonino are excited to start their new journey together as husband and wife and are currently looking forward to purchasing their new home.

Samantha
& Jacob
From the invitations to the fuchsia and green color-scheme, local cuisine, and overall dcor of the wedding, guests experienced the island tradition of the Turks and Caicos at Samantha and Jacobs wedding. The two met in 2007, and although they had a long-distance relationship at first, they knew they were meant for each other. For an unexpected proposal, Jacob took Samantha and their dog, Teddi, on a nature walk in the middle of the winter in search of the Eternal Flame in Chestnut Ridge Park, New York. After searching for an hour for the flame and not being able to see it due to the inclement weather, the two stopped at a bench to rest. As Samantha sat down I immediately got down on one knee. I explained to her that even though we were unable to find the Eternal Flame, it was meant to symbolize my never ending love for her and then asked her to marry me, reminisced Jacob. Once happily engaged on February 16, 2009, Samantha and Jacob immediately began planning their destination wedding at the Grace Bay Club in the Turks and Caicos. After seeing this location on television being rated as one most beautiful beaches in the world by the Travel Channel, the couple knew this locale was perfect to host their intimate event. Samantha noted they liked how there were distinct areas on the resort, all easily accessible within a short walk. In addition, they had nothing but great things to say about the staff. They made it so easy for us to plan our day from the beginning. Shameka, the Wedding Events Manager, was there for us every step of the way and made us comfortable in knowing the Grace Bay Club would be able to handle our event. She assured us it would turn out perfect and it did, commented the bride. The service the staff provided was beyond our expectations. They paid so much attention to detail and ultimately made us feel like celebrities on our wedding day. Everyone at Grace Bay Club was accommodating, professional, and fun, added the groom. The morning of their big day, the bride, maid of honor, and bridesmaids spent part of their day relaxing on the beach and enjoying strawberry daiquiris until it was time to begin getting ready. Samanthas sister, Rachael Rizzuti styled her hair perfectly in loose curls that flowed down her back, and Shenique from Sheque Perfection made sure the brides makeup looked flawless. The bride walked down the aisle in a Monique Lhuillier form-fitting halter-style lace gown. Jacob waited at the altar sporting a Calvin Klein ContemporaryBride.com
linen suit. Once the couple exchanged their own vows, it was time for a night of eating, dancing, and celebrating the newly married couple. Cocktail hour served passed hors doeuvres of dragon rolls, crab cakes, coconut shrimp, and chicken satay skewers. Dinner began with a trio of conch appetizer (an island specialty) and a choice of organic mixed green salad or soup. Guests were then served a combination entre of miso glazed snapper and rouladte chicken breast. Also throughout the evening specialty drinks of rum punch and mojitos were also available. The food turned out to be amazing and every one of our guests really enjoyed how we incorporated the local island culture into our selections, noted Samantha. The three-tiered wedding cake was beautifully designed in a light green color, adorned with bamboo and cascading flowers. Its flavors were chocolate with raspberry and vanilla with passion fruit filling. Guests danced the night away as The Correy Forbes Band played island music. Samantha and Jacob held the spotlight with a choreographed rumba as they danced to Lucky by Colbie Caillat and Jason Mraz. They also participated in the traditional parent dances to the songs, I Loved her First by Heartland and Ill Be There by the Jackson 5. Tommy Colbert Photography captured the essence of the wedding in a photojournalistic approach from the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, to the reception. He got many great photographs that told a story in that particular moment. Samantha and Jacob were equally impressed with their videographer, David Lanasa. He was able to capture the special moments on film without being obtrusive. The video consisted of everything from their wedding, and he even put together a video montage from the week. David was able to put together an amazing video that made it possible to relive every moment for years to come, commented Jacob. To make their day even more special, David was able to record the ceremony live for those family members and friends who were not able to attend to be able to watch from home. Samantha was a very hands on bride from making the invitations and menu cards, assembling the petal pouches, to creating labels, and a wedding logo. She continues to thank her wedding coordinator, JoAnne from Elegant Occasions, Shemeka and the rest of the staff from the Grace Bay Club for recommending some of their vendors and making sure their day was perfect. Following the reception, the newlyweds traveled to St. Lucia for an eight-day honeymoon, where they stayed at Jade Mountain.
