The factory in which they worked was a foot wooden shed. In 1904, The first Harley-Davidson Dealer, C.H. Lang of Chicago, opens for

business.

In 1906, A new factory, is built on the Chestnut St. site (Juneau Avenue). The first motorcycle catalog is produced by the Company and the nickname "Silent Gray Fellow". In 1907, Company expansion. They also began selling their motorcycles to police departments around this time, a market that has been important to them ever since. In 1909, introduces its first V-twin powered motorcycle. Production jumped from 450 motorcycles in 1908 to 1,149 machines in 1909. The famed "Bar & Shield" logo is used for the first time. Trademarked at the U.S. Patent office.
