1.CLEARNESS
Clearness, refers to the quality of being clear or distinct; transparency; freedom from ambiguity or confusion.(Webster Dictionary) Business writing must be clear. It uses simple words, short sentences and paragraphs that are relatively easy to understand. The words used are direct to the point. Being clear means having a definite purpose for writing and making sure it is clearly communicated up front. Be bold and connect the message of your letter quickly.

Ways to achieve clearness: a.) think first then write you must think beforehand and figure out why you are writing and to whom you are writing. b.) use simple familiar expressions since your aim is to inform your readers, you should use simple words like possible instead of feasible. c.) omit/avoid wordiness avoid using unnecessary words that do not contribute to the clearness of message. d.) avoid jargon use words that are understood by the average readers that will not confused them. e.) keep your sentences and paragraphs short - the fewer words you can use to convey your point, the clearer it will be and the faster it will sink in for the audience/readers. f.) use the active voice use the subject verb object pattern
