1. Assess hands for cuts and breaks contaminated inthe skin.

4. Open the faucet and adjust the flow of water.

5. Wet hands and lower forearm under running water.Keep hands in downward position.

6. Get the soap and lather thoroughly.

7. While holding the soap with one hand, use your other hand in rubbing all areas of your hand. Do thesame with the other hand.

8. Rinse the soap and return it on the soap dishwithout touching any part of the dish.

9. With hands in downward position, rinse startingfrom the wrist to fingers.

10. Get a paper towel and dry your hands starting fromthe fingers to forearms.

11. Close the faucet using the paper towel.

4. Remove the package from the outer wrapper. Place thepackage on clean dry surface.

5. Open the package by pulling the corners of the wrapper.

6. Identify the right and left gloves. Glove the dominanthand first.

7. Get the first glove by grasping the folded cuff with thethumb and first two fingers of the non-dominant hand,touching on the cuff.

8. Slip in your dominant hand on the glove. Hold handabove waist level.

9. Using the gloved dominant hand, slip your fingersunder the cuff of the other glove.

10. Slip the glove onto non-dominant hand

11. Interlock the fingers of your gloved hand to fit thegloves onto each finger.

12. If gloves are soiled, remove as follows: Using thefingers of your dominant hand, grasp the outer part of the glove at the wrist.

13. Pull the glove down to the fingers (glove to glove).

14. Slip the ungloved fingers of your non-dominant handunder the glove of your dominant hand (skin to skin).

15. Pull and remove the glove.

16. Dispose soiled gloves and wash hands.

17. Make one complete side of the bed at a time.

18. Put on clean pillow case, taking care to keep pillowand case away from uniform

19. Face open and of end pillow case away from the door.

20. Restore unit.

21. Use good body mechanics throughout the procedure.

22. Complete procedure in five (5) minutes or less.

23. Wash hands at the end of the procedure.
