 Any person who buys or hires any goods or service is a consumer

except if he uses such goods or service for commercial purpose. or if the goods/service provided is free of cost, the person shall not be considered a consumer.

Caveat emptor rule ( let the buyer beware) in sale of goods act of 1930, sprout the root of consumer interest protection.

o Time limit for giving information is 30 days o If information concerns life and liberty of a person it must be given in 48 hrs o If information is given by third party then invite objections then more 10 days o No action on application for 30 days its deemed refusal
