2010 Global Open Water Swimming Conference – Impressions
I wanted to personally convey my appreciation for the hospitality that youforwarded to me whilst I was in LA. I really appreciated the efforts you went to,ensuring that I was looked after and made to feel a part of the conference and meet. I cannot express how much I enjoyed the experience and I only hope that Ican return the hospitality and respect that was given to me. Additionally I also wanted to congratulate you on the outstanding work you did in putting together the Global Open Water Swimming Conference and USA OpenWater Swimming Trials. Both were an outstanding success and you should becommended for the professionalism and passion that you brought to bothactivities. You bring a lot of knowledge and credibility to our sport and I can tell you that on behalf of both our athletes and I, we are grateful for this support and wish you all the best for the future.

For someone that started swimming about four years ago, the conference wasvery insightful and my wife, Victoria Rian, and I would attend future conferences if circumstances allowed. As Victoria continues her training for the CatalinaChannel, some of the sessions really relieved some of her concerns over theventure. Thanks again for a job well done. I especially enjoyed the two sessions Iattended with Jim Miller and Ram since he was a swimmer I could relate to sincewe both did not grow up in a pool and tool up open water later in life.
