Dear Parents: During the first few weeks of school we will be doing an overview of the alphabet, numbers 1-10, and color/number words. This overview is meant to be a refresher for our students who attended Pre-K and a chance for those who have not been in school before to see numbers and letters. The more you practice these skills with your child at home, the more successful they will be throughout the rest of this school year. Every day we will cover the letters, numbers, and words listed on the above chart. Please make sure you practice not only the items from that day, but also the items from previous days. Please take out the weekly, What are we Learning?, sheet and place into the page protector in the folder. Then, hang the page protector on your fridge. These pages will serve as a daily reminder to practice the important skills that your child will be learning in kindergarten! In this folder I have included flash cards as well as several other activities which you can complete as a family over the next two weeks. Each day please return this folder to school with all of the enclosed activities, and make sure to sign the Daily Practice Log each night. Students will receive a sticker for each signature and after they have five stickers they will be able to choose a prize from the treasure box. Have fun learning with your child! Ms. Buffa
