Junior Warriors bow to Little Archers
Little Archer John Boo led the De LaSalle Zobel (DLSZ) squad to victory against the Universityof the East (UE) Junior Warriors with a pay-off 59-92 score in the continuation of the UAAPseason 74 juniors¶ basketball competition last July 16 at the Ateneo Blue Eagle Gym.The Mark Herrera-mentored cagers started struggling from their perimeter shots where they onlyaimed 6 out of 27 attempts compared with the green-and-white dribblers having 51.6 % fieldgoals and two triples in the first canto at 11-26.Starting with a full court press, the locals gunned to push the ball in the paint to gain markers for the team and lessen their opponent¶s basket after basket performance. However, for seven golden minutes, Lualhati¶s frontliners faced distress leading them to a blownup 27 point deficit to finish the first half, 23-50 in favor of DLSZ.During the second half, the domination of the Little Archers continued as they trapped the localswith their game plan forcing the latter to have turnovers.Meanwhile, Herrera called for a technical foul for unwanted movement to the referee, sixminutes remaining in the second stanza as team captain John Paul Rodriguez and DLSZ stalwartBoo were injured due battling to the ball in the third quarter.Despite of their winless campaign, the Junior Red Warriors continue to face the UST Cubs onJuly 26, eleven in the morning at the same venue. The scores:
