Dr. Beach Congers Its Probably Nothing is the inspiring tale of a ne and caring physicians life and times in two places that could scarcely be more di erent: rural Vermont and inner-city Philadelphia. Wri en with great humor, wisdom, common sense, and compassion, Its Probably Nothing is a uniquely American memoir by a very insightful American individualist. I loved it. Howard Frank Mosher, author of Walking to Gatlinburg

Treating patients is challenging enough, but when the patient isnt the farmer si ing in ont of you but his sick cow back home, its potentially hilarious. Fortunately, Dr. Beach Conger knows a thing or two about cows and even more about the human condition. In Its Probably Nothing, Conger returns to Vermont, a er living and working in inner city Philadelphia. He reenters a medical practice that is worlds away from urban medicine, yet it quickly becomes apparent that his patients from Pauline Pontifact to Uptah Corless need him now more than ever. is collection of stories from the author of Bag Balm and Duct Tape showcases Congers irreverent view into the doctors role and his profound empathy for the characters he encounters along the way. Conger also examines how medicine and problems with our current health care system can remain the same and yet feel vastly di erent whether youre a small-town farmer or big city resident.

Its Probably Nothing is actually quite wonderful. With wit and humility, but above all with deep a ection, Beach Conger captures perfectly what it is to be a Vermonter. is book is a must-read for doctors and patients alike. Peter Welch, US Representative, Vermont
