How To Play Backgammon
To begin, both players will throw a single die and the players who will have the highest rollnumber will play first.
MOVING CHECKERS
The Roll of the dice will indicate how many points a player is to move his/her pieces. The checkerscan only be moved forwards. Meaning, they are only allowed to move towards their ownquadrants. The black and the white checkers are only allowed to move in opposite directionsaround the board. It's a clockwise and counter-clockwise move for both players.
More rules about the movement of the pieces:
A piece can be moved to any point which is vacant or to one that is occupied by no morethan one piece of your opponent. A point with two or more pieces of your opponent will beconsidered as a block for you.
The numbers on the two dice indicate different moves. For example, if a player rolls fourand two, he is allowed to move one piece 4 areas to an open point and another piece 2areas to an open point or he may move a single piece a total of six areas to an open point.
If you roll the dice and same number comes up on both, you can move your checkers
