The study identified constraints perceived by dairy farmers in Madhubani district of Bihar in adopting scientific dairy farming practices. Major constraints included ill-equipped artificial insemination services, repeat breeding issues, lack of pedigree bulls, and low genetic potential of local animals. Additional constraints were inadequate knowledge of proper feeding, limited financial resources leading to underfeeding, and unavailability of feed and fodder during floods. Regarding management and healthcare, ill-equipped veterinary hospitals, lack of awareness about vaccination and deworming, and lack of knowledge about scientific practices were also constraints. The study suggests formulating strategies to address these constraints and promote adoption of improved practices.
