ACKNOWLEDGMENT
First, i thank our project co-ordinator
Rajinder Tiwari
Sir, for hissupport. He is responsible for involving us in the project in the firstplace. He taught us how to ask questions and express our ideas. Heshowed me different ways to approach a research problem and theneed to be persistent to accomplish any goal. Thanks to the
AMITYUNIVERSITY
for providing us a chance to complete this project.A special thanks goes to Aashish Dixit who is most responsible forhelping me complete the writing of this project as well as thechallenging research that lies behind it, with whom we explored theideas, requirements and development of this project. Without hisencouragement and constant guidance, I could not have finished thisproject. He was always there to meet and talk about my ideas &listening to my complaints and frustrations, and for believing in me.I am also greatly indebted to many teachers in the past.Last, but not least, I thank my parents, for giving me life in the firstplace, for educating me with aspects from both arts and sciences, forunconditional support and encouragement to pursue my interests, even when the interests went beyond boundaries of language, fieldand geography and numerous friends who endured this long processwith me, always offering support and love.

NANOTECHNOLOGY

What is Nanotechnology?

Nanotechnology
 , shortened to "
nanotech
", is the study of thecontrol of matter on an atomic and molecular scale.Generally nanotechnology deals with structures of the size100 nanometers or smaller, and involves developingmaterials or devices within that size. Nanotechnology is very diverse, ranging from extensions of conventional device physics, to completely new approaches based upon molecular self-assembely, to developing new materials with dimensionson the nanoscale, even to speculation on whether we candirect control matter on the atomic scale.
 A
basic definition:
Nanotechnology is the engineeringof functional systems at the molecular scale
. This coversboth current work and concepts that are more advanced.

I
n its original sense, 'nanotechnology' refers to the projected ability to construct items from the bottom up, usingtechniques and tools being developed today to makecomplete, high performance products. The word 'nanotechnology' defined for building machines onthe scale of molecules, a few nanometers widemotors, robot arms, and even whole computers, far smaller than acell.
