The DM2 and FGV study programmes

The double degree students from HSG participate in a study programme with a time span of approximately 2 to 2.5 years, depending on the programme of the partner university. DM2 and FGV double degree students spend their first year at the University of St.Gallen, where they follow the standard course programme of their HSG Master degree. A total of 69 ECTS credits (all compulsory subjects, core electives, half of the contextual studies, and the HSG Master thesis) must be achieved in St.Gallen. During their second year, which will be spent abroad, students complete a required number of credits including the partner universitys Master thesis in the relevant Master programme at the partner university. 21 ECTS of the highest graded courses will be averaged out and credited towards the HSG Master degree. Specific requirements differ between the participating schools and between degree programmes. At the end of the programme, students must have earned at least 120 ECTS credits in total. The last half year can be used to complete the HSG Master thesis at the University of St.Gallen, however, the thesis is subject to the particular regulations of each uni versity and will be supervised individually and independently by each university.

Individual study programmes DM2 and FGV

All DM2 and FGV double degree students will have their own individual study plan. Therefore, no general study programme overview can be given. All applicants should carefully consider which Master programme they would like to choose at the partner school. Generally, each Master combination is possible, although some programmes or courses may not be compatible in regards to con tent. In the application form students should explain their motivation for choosing a certain combination. It is also possible to combine similar programmes, for instance Marketing, Services and Communication Management (MSC) at the Uni versity of St.Gallen and the Marketing major at ESADE, but only if there are no overlapping courses. The HSG selection committee assesses whether the chosen Master course combination is feasible. In a second step the partner university will also need to approve the proposed study programme. Students will be informed once both universities have approved the study proposal.
