FOUR WIVES STORYA rich man was blessed with four wives. Do you think he is very lucky? Let us see.The rich man had more affection with his 4th wife the most and cared her well withrich jewels and treated her like a queen. He took much care of her and gave hernothing but the best.He also loved his third wife very much. He's more proud of her charm and alwayswanted her to be with him. He was jealous. His possessive nature left him in a greatfear that she might run away with some other men.He too, loved his second wife. She is a very adjustable person, extremely patient andshe shared the worries of her husband. Whenever problem comes the merchantwould run to his second wife and she would always help him out and tide himthrough difficult times.Now, the merchant's first wife is really his better half. Her presence was felt inmaintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household and shehas made great contributions. Somehow, the merchant did not like his first wife.One day, the old merchant fell ill. As every aged person, he also felt that his daysare numbered and his death is nearing. He was often disturbed by several thoughts.One was about his luxurious life and spoke to himself, "I have wealth. Great familywith four wives. “If I am dying, I'll be alone. How lonely I'll be!"Thus, he asked his fourth wife, "I loved you to my heart, endowed you with thefinest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you followme and keep me company?" "No way!" replied the fourth wife and she walked awaywithout another word.The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant's heart. The sad merchantthen asked the third wife, "I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that I'mdying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life isso good over here! I'm going to remarry when you die!" The merchant's heart sankand turned cold.He then asked his second wife, "I always turned to you for help and you've alwayshelped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keepme company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the second wife."At the very most, I can only send you to your grave." The answer came like a boltof thunder and the merchant was devastated.Then a voice called out : "I'll leave with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go."The merchant looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost likeshe suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the merchant said, "I should havetaken much better care of you while I could have !"Actually, we all have four wives in our livesa. The fourth wife is our body.
