What are they? Why use them? How do you write them?

Why SMART Goals?


Goals are something that you want to achieve in the future SMART goals assist in getting focused on what to focus efforts toward SMART goals help define exactly what the future state looks like and how it will be measured SMART goals show others how their work aligns and relates to the focus of the school

Think about it .

In absence of clearly defined goals, we become strangely loyal to performing daily acts of trivia.

Remember: The best activity or strategy means nothing if you re not motivated to complete it.

Step 1:
Identify what you want to achieve. Visualize what will be different afterwards? Improve efficiency of production line.

Make it specific. Ask yourself what do you really need to do? Improve the efficiency of production line Q. Why do you want to increase production efficiency? A. So that unit cost is reduced. Q. Why do we need to reduce unit cost? A. So that the profit margin of 15% can be sustained without increasing price. The Goal becomes: Increase efficiency per employee from 15 widgets to 20 widgets per hour.

Step 3:
Agree on some actions. What specific actions need to be taken to achieve the Goal and in what timeframe?

Increase efficiency per employee from 15 widgets to 20 widgets per hour by December 1st.

Analyze efficiency data for last two years Implement process to monitor error rate so quality can be maintained Implement approved interventions. Analyze end-of-year productivity/efficiency data and present findings.
