Gossip Girl meets Charmed in Gabriella Pierce’s fabulous follow-up to her debut supernatural romp, 666 Park Avenue. Continuing her phenomenal gothic chronicle of witches, covens, and curses, and the darkness lurking behind the glitter of New York high society, Pierce enchants us once again with The Dark Glamour.

Jane Boyle married her prince charming and moved into his upper east side castle—but she didn’t get her fairy-tale ending

It’s hard to live happily ever after when you discover your demanding and controlling mother-in-law is literally a witch, determined to steal the magical powers you didn’t even know you had. Jane narrowly avoided Lynne Doran’s clutches when she escaped on her wedding day, and has been hiding out in New York City. But she can’t hide forever.

When Jane learns of the one thing Lynne wants most, she sets out to provide it, hoping her good turn will persuade her mother-in-law to stop hunting her. Unfortunately, Jane’s daring plan will send her right back into the witches’ den—the Doran clan’s multistory town house on Park Avenue. But thanks to a tricky spell, blond architect Jane will be transformed into Ella, a dark beauty with a whole new look . . . and all of Jane’s budding powers. Though the stakes are life or death, nobody said “Ella” couldn’t have a little fun along the way, too.

Chapter One
“Thanks.” Jane Boyle aimed a friendly smile at the tired-
looking barista, a sallow-skinned girl with a barbell through herseptum. In spite o the act that the macchiato in Jane’s hands wasapproximately the eight hundredth she’d bought rom the girl inthe last three weeks, the barista didn’t show the aintest glimmero recognition.
Probably for the best,
Jane reminded hersel as she settled into thecozy-looking corduroy armchair that had quickly become her a- vorite. Ater all, she was in hiding.Unortunately, “hiding” was not turning out to be enjoyableor even particularly interesting. Jane could remember vividly the way her heart had pounded as she stood in Grand Central, making the lie-or-death choice between leaving New York andstaying. Clutching Malcolm’s stock o money and ake passports, she had imagined a wild montage o magical discovery with her

Must. Stop. Thinking. In. Montages.
Jane hadn’t gone more than two blocks when she caught aglimpse o hersel on the news. Then the elegant ace o her hom-icidal mother-in-law had lled the screen, and Jane instinctively  backed away, araid that Lynne would somehow see her. Maybeshe can, Jane had thought wildly; she really couldn’t athom thelimits o Lynne’s powers. But ater a tense ew moments o lis-tening to her own shallow breath rasping in the night air, thelure o Lynne’s perectly peach-lipsticked mouth was too muchto resist. The story the garbled closed-captioned ticker spelled out madeit clear that Lynne was as much a mistress o PR as she was o  black magic . . . and that Jane wasn’t going to be able to so much aspoke her nose out o hiding or a good long time.Too araid to contact her riends and with no idea how long thestockpile o cash would have to last her, Jane had to think quickly.A twenty-our-hour Duane Reade and twenty-seven minutes inthe bathrooms o Grand Central had turned her rom the blondnewlywed Jane Boyle into the Ebony Mocha–tressed CarolineChase, an anonymous New Yorker with a penchant or heavy eyeliner, whose passport Jane just happened to have.
Good thingI didn’t choose Amber Kowalsky,
Jane thought, recalling the heavy Photoshopping o her picture in one o the other pseudonym-edpassports.
 All those piercings would have
hurt.Three weeks later, Caroline Chase was stuck in a depressingsingle-room-occupancy hotel near Port Authority with a shrink-

Book Title: 666 Park AvenueAuthor: Gabriella PiercePublished By: William Morrow PaperbacksGenre: Paranormal RomanceRecommended Age: 16+Reviewed By: Emily Tuley / AngelsCryHavocBlog Reviewed For: Great Minds Think Aloud Literary CommunityRating: 3 RavensWhen I first started reading this book I was pulled in, It’s a very good story and I have only a few complaints with it. First I will get out the complaints that way I can get on with the good. The author worked for detail and length however, I felt that some of her writing began to become repetitive while she was trying to pull her sources together. It got a little long in the tooth for detail leaving only what I felt was a rushed ending. I know that it’s left open for a sequel to the book but, I still felt there could have been a better ending point than where it was. With that being said I move on to say that I enjoyed the story and the direction it was flowing. It’s got characters that will be great in the coming novels I believe but until such time only we can see I hope that perhaps the hashing and rehashing of things in the next book will not be as long and we will see where this all goes. I look forward to seeing what this author can do and in the coming books this one was good just not one of the best I feel. However my opinion is only one and I’m sure you should pick it up and make one for yourself.

THE DARK GLAMOUR, by Gabriella Pierce, is the fantastic sequel to 666 Park Avenue. From the moment I finished 666 Park Avenue I was dying to read the next book. When I finally got my hands on it, I flew through it in one sitting and now I want the next one. This series is addictive, hilarious, packed with steamy romances and of course, witches! In the last book, we left Jane in Grand Central Terminal saying goodbye to her husband, Malcolm, who tore her heart to pieces when she found out he killed her grandmother, plotted with his mother to impregnate Jane with their bloodline, and then raise the baby in their family. In some ways Malcolm tried to redeem himself but could you honestly trust someone like that ever again? But in the beginning of this book Jane was pleasantly surprised when Malcolm came through for her with money and a secret that could shake Lynne off her back forever. With the help of her trustworthy witchy friends, Jane transforms into the exotic Ella and goes behind enemy lines to bring her life back to normal, or as normal as she could be. As Ella, Jane was able to infiltrate the Doran clan through the seductive Andre who also had his own agenda. Their relationship was electric from the start, but I never fully fell for this mysterious man as I did with Malcolm. Lies and deceit were the name of the game once again but at least Jane was in control, most of the time. She followed her heart and her strict deadline all the way to London and back to retrieve her bargaining chip. I loved how Pierce's writing allowed me to visualize every single detail of each environment without bogging me down with details. After what Malcolm did to Jane in the first book, I had switched sides to become a Harris-shipper. Their chemistry is delicious and fun, and more so because they both have witch bloodlines. I wanted to see more of him in this book but sadly I was disappointed. With the way this book ended, I hope (crossing fingers) for these two to have some sort of possibility in the next book.Overall, this was a great sequel to the series. There was never a dull moment and if you enjoyed the first you will definitely love this one!
