Energy Saving By Load Balancing in Three Phase System

A three phase system is said to be balanced if current through all the three phases R, Y, and B are equal. Otherwise some amount of current will be flowing through the neutral. This current also is drawn from the supply lines causing loss of power and thus energy. The problem is severe where heavy loads are used like industries . Current sensors can be installed at the three phases and this information can be given to a microcontroller which can be programmed to switch ON or OFF loads in a priority basis in any of the phases so that the currents in all the phases are equal or at least near equal so that the neutral current can be minimized.
