Public transportplans for Harrow
Harrow Strategic Planning

Please inform me how I can be con-sulted by the borough, to improvethe inadequate public transport
strategies in Harrow’s “Unitary De-velopment Plan”, and its replace-ment plan, the “Local DevelopmentFramework: Core Strategy”.
We have good radial train and tuberoutes, but terrible orbital ones. There are proposals in neighbouringboroughs to introduce orbital light-rail services. I wish Harrow to actively investigate such plans, be-cause of the possible benefits for us in Harrow.
Barnet’s 2006 “Brent Cross Development Framework” estimates over
29,000 extra vehicles every day at the expanded Brent Cross (not tomention many more at Colindale and other Barnet locations). Sincerail access to Brent Cross will only be from the north, east and south, many of those vehicles will be on Harrow roads
leading to extracongestion and more CO
production. What submissions has Harrow made, to stop this happening, please?
(It is not good enough just to “improve” the road junctions at Brent
Cross and Cricklewood
that is no “solution” to our extra traffic.)
Please add me to your mailing list for our borough’s strategic plan-
ning consultation, particularly relating to better public transport.
I broadly support the proposed “Brent Cross Railway”, linking all the
radial rail and tube routes in north west London. I wish the council toexamine it, and promote the plan, if it is feasible and affordable! Please be kind enough to inform me how Harrow will evaluate in de-tail this proposed light railway. That will include requesting support
from “Transport for London” and the other London boroughs.
