North Koreas view on the Reunification of Korea Only a few people in the world know that Korea is divided

by a huge concrete wall on the 38th Parallel which was erected by the United States of America at the end of the Korean War. This wall is hundreds of times bigger than the one that existed in Germany and separates Korean families brother from brother, parent from child. The nation is divided because the US insists on dominating the southern portion of the country and maintains an army of more than 40,000 soldiers stationed there for the express purpose of preventing the reunification of the Korean people and nation. Korea is an independent and sovereign state, but the southern part of the country is still controlled by imperialist interests and US troops. If any south Korean citizen so much as tries to visit North Korea by crossing the huge concrete wall, he will be met with deadly force from the American soldiers. The so-called Security Law in south Korea forbids any south Korean citizen from talking or even reading about the North by threat of imprisonment or even execution. Since the Korean War ended, the Great Leader Kim Il Sung and the Dear Leader Kim Jong Il have never ceased to be concerned about the unification of Korean families. The Great Leader himself is known to have said: At this important time, the unification of the divided nation should be seen as the supreme national task of the entire Korean people, and we cannot wait even another moment to achieve it! In 1980, he wrote the foundations of the Constitution of the Democratic Confederation of the Republic of Koryo, in which he expounded the fundamental stages of the peaceful unification of the country, respecting the positive aspects of both the capitalist and socialist systems. The reunification of Korea, peace on the Korean peninsula, and the reunion of Korean families is possible, but the USA is not interested in solutions. Every year, with the support of the south Korean army, it carries out large-scale military maneuvers like the Ulji Focus Lens and Team Spirit for the purpose of invading and dominating the North. Only when the American military leaves south Korea and the citizens recover their sovereignty will a whole and united Korean nation be realized. Peace, friendship and independence are the eternal aspirations of the Korean people. The burning desire of the separated families to be reunited will never be extinguished.
