Ah, yes, the Internet, a vast informational landscape filled with lots of useful (andplenty of useless) information. This free tool has transformed ordinary, every-dayyokels into entrepreneurial prodigies who accumulate millions of dollars off of seemingly asinine ventures – a website where you post public messages that areonly 140 characters in length (Twitter)? In this game you can be another person and do all of the same things you would in normal life, but in a virtual environment. Soundskind of stupid, right? PPC/CPC Internet Advertising
What is it used for?
PPC advertising or “Pay Per Click” is also known as CPC or “Cost Per Click”advertising. This advertising model has been around for quite a while on Internet,since about the early 2000s and it's incredibly popular due to the fact that youcan target people much more effectively than with traditional advertising methodswhile allowing the ads to run on autopilot with very little supervision.With PPC advertising you are able to target specific prospects according to theirprecise interests, tailor your ads to reach out to them, and have those same adsappear at your target audience's front door. Because the ads are relevant to whatyour audience is already interested in, they are more apt to click on it. You areonly charged when your prospect takes the action you want (clicking on the ad,which takes them to your website or another page that sells your service orproduct). There are three major types of PPC ads – Search-based PPC, Demographic-basedPPC, and PPC that pays you for each click instead of vice versa. Search-based PPC
 This PPC model is all about returning relevant ads to consumers after they haveperformed a search on an engine. For example, if I have a business selling roses inSeattle, Washington then I want ads promoting my business to appear whensomeone types “roses in Seattle” or other variations of keywords and phraseshaving to do with roses in my area.When it comes to search-based PPC you are typically bidding against competingadvertisers for clicks on the keywords and phrases you want. You can set upmultiple search-based PPC campaigns at one time. Although you will need tomonitor them for effectiveness after that, they will largely run on autopilot. You can set a maximum amount of money that cannot be exceeded. So, if youdon't want to spend more than $30 a day then, if the amount of people clicking onyour ads in a 24-hour period equals $30, the ads will automatically stop runninguntil the following day.
Demographic-based PPCUnlike search-based PPC, which has you doing a lot of careful keyword research toensure that your campaigns are successful, Demographic-based PPC doesn'tinvolve any of that. You just need to have a good idea of who you want to targetand then begin setting up the specifics. Facebook ads have made demographic-based PPC advertising incredibly popular.Because people on Facebook already list all of their likes, interests, location, age,gender, and relationship status openly then you can advertise directly to themaccording to that openly admitted demographical information.
