VALUES 1 Loyalty and faithfulness EXAMPLES Mr Utterson protects Dr Jekylls name. Dr Lanyon keeps Dr Jekylls secret. Poole faithfully carries out his masters instructions. 2 Kindness and concern for others Mr Enfield goes to Edies rescue when she is attacked by Mr Hyde. Patience and determination

Mr Utterson keeps going to Hydes house until he succeeds in seing him. Mr Utterson is always open and honest in dealing with his clients and friends and does not betray their secrets.

Trustworthiness

Mr Utterson is well respected as a lawyer who is sincere and dependable. Dr Lanyon is someone Dr Jekyll trusts completely to keep his secret. Poole is another person whom Dr Jekyll knows he can depend on.

Lessons Learnt
Below are some of the lessons to be learnt from Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde:

1. We should be loyal and faithful to our friends and employers. 2. We should show kindness and compassion to others in trouble. 3. We should not be afraid to stand up for what is right. 4. We should always be honourable and upright in our dealings with people. 5. We should not get involved in bad or harmful activities because crime does not pay. 6. We should practise moderation in whatever we do. Dr Jekylls lack of control over his evil desires leads him to commit horrible crimes.
