Brocade Switch Zoning

Using Internet Explorer, browse to the switch (http://xx.xx.xx.xx). Internet Explorer displays the SwitchExplorer main screen.

Click on the

icon to display the name server.

A popup window is display listed all WWPNs and their corresponding ports.

Visually verify that ports are listed as N in the Port Type column. Click on the application. icon to start the Zone Administration A popup window is display and a login prompt appears.

Installation Instruction
Enter the administrator username and password.

Result
The Zone Administration screen displays with the Alias tab highlighted.

Create Aliases
6. Click on Create. The Create New Alias screen is displayed. The Alias is accepted. Either EMC CLARiiON or Emulex (WWNN) is displayed. A second EMC CLARiiON or Emulex (WWPN) is displayed. The WWPN is displayed in the Alias Members panel.

Enter name for an alias. Click OK. Expand the Member Select List tree for Ports & Attaching Devices and for the port being Aliased (the number just before (F-Port)). Expand the EMC CLARiiON or Emulex tree node to find more EMC CLARiiON or Emulex tree nodes (these are WWPNs). Verify and select the WWPN and click Add Member.

Installation Instruction
Repeat steps 7 and 11 for all Aliases.

Result
All Aliases are successfully created.

Create Zones

Click on the Zone tab.

The Zone tab is displayed. The Create New Zone screen is displayed. The Zone name is accepted. All available Aliases are displayed in the Member Selection List panel.

Click on Create.

Enter the name of a Zone.

Expand the Aliased tree node. Hold down the <Ctrl> key and select members HBA1 CLARiiON SPA0

CLARiiON SPB1. Click Add Member 17. Repeat steps 14 through 17 for all Zones.

1 Emulex/Host Alias and two CLARiiON Aliases are displayed in the Zone Members panel.

All Zones are successfully created.

Add Zones to Fabric

Click on the Config tab. If creating a new Fabric:

The Config screen is displayed.

Click Create. If editing an existing Fabric: Use existing Fabric Name.

The Create screen is displayed prompting for the Config name.

Enter the Configuration Name as Fabric_Name, or Use existing Fabric_Name. Hold down the <ctrl> key and select the Zones created in steps 12 through 17 from the Selection panel. Click Add Member.

The Configuration name is accepted.

New Zones are added to the Fabric configuration in the right panel.

Activate Zoneset / Enable Fabric

A prompt is displayed to select the config to enable.

On the toolbar, select Actions -> Enable Config.

Installation Instruction
Verify that the configuration name created in step 20 is correctly displayed and click OK. Verify in the bottom section of the Zone Administration screen that start of commit, Commit Succeeded and end of commit are displayed.

Result
A warning dialog is displayed confirming the activation of the config. The Commit is displayed as successful.

Verification Instruction Verify Zoning

Using Internet Explorer, browse to the switch (http://xx.xx.xx.xx).

Acceptance Criteria

1.

The Switch Explorer screen is displayed.

A login dialog is displayed.

Enter the administrator username and password. Click on View Report on the Switch tab. Verify Zoning in Report.

The Switch Explorer screen displays with the Switch tab highlighted. A new browser window is displayed as Switch Information Report.
