Ecclesiastes 1:8-10
All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing. The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall bedone: and there is no new thing under the sun.Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

any Christians are pessimistic and discouraged by what they see and hear. Our 24 hour news cycle constantly informs us of disasters, murders, injustice, and bad economics. Any study of history will prove this is nothing new. How quickly we forget the atrocities of war in the past that outnumbers anything we see presently. People live under the misconception that the world is getting worse and plunging into more and more chaos, but a study of the factscontradicts this. The world, although not perfect, is getting better in many areas. Improvementsin health, longevity, economics, peace, and education can be documented

statistically for multitudes of people, but many Christians remain pessimisticconcerning the future. This is in part due to teaching that we are living in the last days, and the world isending. This is constantly preached from pulpits across America, and emphasized on Christian television. I have consistently challenged this teaching by saying that we are living in the kingdom age, and the last days are behind us.The last days were the last days of the Old Covenant Age, the time that Jesus and the apostles lived in that saw the establishment of the Kingdom. The last days were the perilous times that the early church lived in, in which theysuffered terrible persecution, and lived during the birth pangs (sorrow) of thearrival of the kingdom. The Kingdom did come; Zion travailed, and brought forth her children. Thechurch was birthed, and the gates of hell did not prevail!!!!The things you are seeing and hearing now are not new. There have always beentimes of difficulty and distress, punctuated by times of advancement and  prosperity. Keep your eyes of Jesus and the kingdom, and do not become discouraged or distracted by what you see and hear. Remember that in the kingdom there isrighteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Rom.14:17).
