has promoted
Don West, Jr.
to director of football operations.West will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of the firm’s football clientsboth on and off-the-field, as well as working with new athlete-clients as they begin theirprofessional careers. West will report directly to Leigh Steinberg, chairman and CEO of Steinberg, Moorad & Dunn, who made the announcement today.“Don has the kind of well-rounded experience and relationships that will prove to be a great assetto our football practice,” said Steinberg. “We have several exciting developments in the works,and Don’s ability and instincts will be an integral part of the success of those endeavors.”Most recently, West served as an attorney-agent in the football practice at Steinberg, Moorad &Dunn. Previously, West was Chief of Staff for Florida State Senator Daryl Jones. He has alsoserved as a summer associate at Shutts & Bowen, LLP in Miami, Florida, as well as Steinberg &Moorad.West holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University where he was a memberof the varsity track team, and six-time Atlantic Coast Conference Academic honoree. He was alsoa member of the 1994 track team that won the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship.West received his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law where he served asPresident of the Student Bar Association and was named President Emeritus for his service.While at the law school, West was a recipient of the Dean’s Honor Scholarship, a FloridaEducation Fund Scholar, received the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement in Property and was thewinner of the Roger Sorino Memorial Award, an award given to the most outstanding graduate asvoted by his peers. He was also a member of the Iron Arrow Honor Society, serving as Son-of-Chief (the highest honor attained at the University of Miami).
