Distortion In Welding

Problem Summary

In Vacation we visit the company H.L.E.Engineers Pvt. Ltd. Situated near Maroli. It is totally mechanical based company. In this company, their main product is Pressure Vessels. They mainly produce Agitated Notch Filter (ANF) and Rotary Vaccum Paddle Drayer (RVPD). Sometime on order of customers they also make the Reactor. In this company we find the problem of DISTORTION during welding and we select it as project. When any type of welding is done on the material the distortion is take place in material. It is impossible to totally remove the effect of distortion, but it is minimized by changing the sequence and pattern of welding on the material. In this Project, we can define the some of techniques for minimized the Distortion.

DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM
 In A F the distortion is produce in different parts First of we take the Bottom Plate When the bottom plate is weld on the I

channels due to distortion the straightness of flat plate is change So in the filter the heating process is not done e uilibrium because of the distance between plate & rotor is not same at everywhere So here we try to use some welding techniques to minimized distortion.

 To make shell, When the bend plate is welded to make it shell the ovality is created due to the distortion . So the distance between rotor & shell is also different at everywhere. This defect also produces unequilibrium heating in product in the shell. This problem is also minimized by welding techniques. So we try to develop the technique.  In the A F, when they weld the Discharge Valve on the shell the distortion is takes place. From the discharge valve the dry and filter solid product is discharge. In discharge valve the plug with O ring is fit with the shell. So if due to distortion the dimension is change on both discharge valve and shell. So there is the chance of leakage of the product. So to remove the effect of Distortion machining process is required. But the process cannot be carried out on Lathe or any other machine. So we try to develop the portable m/c to remove the effect of distortion by machining the inner diameter of Shell Discharge valve. Discharge
