Training Wheels
Training Wheels is an educational course on the planning and design o on-road bicycle acilitiessponsored by the Michigan Department o Transportation (MDOT). It will consist o two hours oclassroom instruction on the AASHTO Guide or the Development o Bicycle Facilities, ollowed by anon-road, on bike portion. During this portion we will casually ride through the community, analyzingtypes o on-road acilities available. There will be many stops to point out potential acility types,ollowed by a group exercise and discussion, questions rom participants and a brie wrap-up.
Target Audience
This course is or City, County, Township, Village and MDOT managers, engineers, planners, CityCouncils, DDA sta, Chamber o Commerce and other stakeholders that can help communities educateothers and adopt on-road bicycle acilities.
Please Note
Class is intended to accommodate all levels o users. Please dress appropriately as we will bike, rainor shine. Class size is limited to a maximum o 25 participants. Light breakast and box lunch will beprovided. This training has been approved or P.E. & C.E.U. credits.

Northeast Oakland County is ortunate to have many buildings that refect on the rural past. The 1848Stoney Creek Schoolhouse is one o many historical treasures in the area. Located on Washington Road,in the nationally registered Stoney Creek Village area, this schoolhouse has been educating youth or over160 years.
