your writing has power ,not dependant on experience ,more meaningful than that ,it has thoughtful weight ,it challenges the doubt ,it it this voice that will out ,and that is why you should continue to give hope to those and let's face it all of us who enter dark times ,not always the same ,but felt nontheless. very substantial and important writing ,you have a significant voice;)

Hi Casey, long time no see. This one is powerful. I liked particularly "the very thing that keeps darkness away gives the shadows more power". It's like a downward spiral into more walls, voices, and chains: sad. You may want to write a related piece where you leave some room for hope. There is always the potential for a happy ending, no matter how farfetched. : ^ )
