I wrote this for someone who seemed to be struggling and disillusioned with God and traditional religion. So, if you are there too or somewhere near-by, then I wrote it for you too!

To Understand God . . . Or Maybe not . . .
 Journal entry June 2
, 2011I'm not always in that place spiritually where I am open to hearing fromGod in such a direct way as I described to my friend last night. RecentlyI haven't been taking time to quiet my mind and seek God's presence. But I will begin again with a renewed commitment. I will seek God'spresence. I will write something for my friend.Maybe I will say – My very dear friend, of course you have to reject theconcept of God that you received in your childhood. That's a good thing,a first step toward healing. It has to be put aside to clear out space for
you to receive something so very much better! It is all so much morecomplex in reality, and yet so much more simple.God does not “answer” our prayers with “yes, no, or wait.” That conceptbelongs to a tiny man-made god that our tiny minds can understand. We can't fully comprehend God. Of course not! We don't HAVE tounderstand and it doesn't have to make sense to us.What NEEDS to happen is that we need to let go of the need tounderstand and have it all make sense. That was one of the messages of peace I received in my teen years – Let it go; God and life and all there isdon't have to make sense and be understood by us.Then, when we let go of that frantic need to have things make sense,God can begin to reveal himself, reveal his purpose. And little by little,as we become ready, we begin to receive fresh understanding. And one of the things we will begin to understand is that this world andthe life-after-death world are not as separate a we had once believed. And those whose physical presence we no longer have with us in thisworld are not so very far away. They are still with us!!And prayer is energy, fuel for living life!!And morality is not about stressing ourselves out over fighting againstour physical nature, but about learning to turn away from that whichcauses harm and to turn toward that which brings blessing andharmony! And the Bible is to be received as it is revealed to us personally. We canput aside parts that are troubling and God will reveal a meaning when weare ready to receive it. We can embrace what seem to be contradictionsas intriguing mysteries! We don't have to struggle with the Bible. Instead we can delight inallowing it to flow over us like a cleansing fountain. Some will soak inand most will just fall away. Perhaps to be absorbed some other daywhen we come again for another shower!Thoughts from June 5

“What is important is our relationship with GOD and our personal experience of/with GOD”. So very true, Rose! Your thought are quite vivid and worth thinking over. I loved reading them. Sorry for adding ‘and’ & ‘/with’ to your sentiments.
