“We founded the new Heinz office in Regus because the services, from reception to facilities management, allow us to concentrate on the business and on growth. We also like the atmosphere in the town centre offices and the friendly Regus staff, who help us with small-scale administrative services.”

Household brands don’t get much morefamous than Heinz. The iconic name is knownacross six continents and 200 countries forproducts such as ketchup, Heinz Beanzand soup.Started in 1869 by Henry John Heinz, theUS-based H.J. Heinz Company is now amongthe top 10 food companies in the world.
Challenge
In Switzerland, Heinz is celebrating its bestyear ever. Its share of the ketchup market hasshot up from 50% five years ago to nearly 80%today. But to maintain that share and drive iteven higher, Heinz had to establish an actualpresence in the country. Although Heinz has been in Switzerland since1928, the business was mostly run from theNetherlands and Germany. To develop its leadit decided to open a branch in Zurich, wherethe sales and marketing team could be closerto consumers and clients.Commercial Director Matthias Wilberg setabout finding accommodation that had theflexibility to grow with the team but, mostimportantly, included facilities management sothey were free to concentrate on developingthe business.
Solution
Heinz usually has its own dedicated offices butit didn’t make commercial sense to open one just for a small team starting out in Switzerland. So it took the unusual step of outsourcing theteam’s workspace.Regus was its first choice. It offered Heinzan established infrastructure that includedfacilities management and was by far the bestquality solution in the right location. It alsogives the Heinz team the flexibility to expand ifneeded and use other business centres whentravelling in the future.Matthias looked at three Regus centres butchose the city centre location for its attractivemodern architecture, large windows lettingin natural light, and connections to publictransport – ideal for clients, visitors andstaff alike.“The centre is close to the international airport, which is important for a global company likeHeinz,” he said. “One of our biggest clientsis near here and the second biggest is closeby. To service customers and consumers anddeal with supplies and distribution you need tolive and work in the country. Regus offers us aflexible base to continue our excellent businessdevelopment here.”
