Family: Auriculariaceae, Order: Auriculariales Description: Large, brownish, rubbery, ear-shaped; upper surface smooth, wavy, reddishbrown to blackish; undersurface with dense, silky covering or minutely hairy, deeply and irregularly ribbed and veined, reddish-to yellow-brown. Flesh thin, rubbery. Spores: 12-15 x 4-6 : sausage-shaped, smooth, with cross-walls; spores form on upper surface. Spore print white. Edibility: Edible. Habitat: Several to may, on coniferous wood; sometimes on deciduous wood.
