Kindergarten Open House
An exciting time for everyone who has a kindergarten age child

All Student Open House

September 9, 2011 is an exciting day for all students at Ridgecrest. At 2:00pm, class list will be posted in the windows of the front lobby, and our 2011 open house ocially begins. Students and families are invited to our 63rd annual open house. This will be your chance to meet your teachers, to visit your classroom, and to learn more about this upcoming school year. This event will end at 3:00 in the afternoon. We look forward to seeing everyone for this exciting event.

Ridgecrest kindergarten parents are invited to the 63rd Kindergarten Orientation. It will be held from 6:00pm to 7:00pm on 7 September 2011 in classrooms 4 and 6. During this time, you can nd out information about our school, and meet Ms. Baker and Ms Harris.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide adults with an opportunity to learn more about supporting their child's transition to school. Because our time is limited, and the subject matter is important, we ask that this meeting be for adults only.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL IMPORTANT INFORMATION The rst day of school this year is 12 September 2011. School begins at 8:30 in the morning. If you child is eating a school breakfast, he or she may enter the building at 8:15 and go into the cafeteria. School ends at 2:55 in the afternoon. For the safety of your children, we ask that students arrive at school at 8:30 if they are

not eating breakfast, and be picked up at 2:55. This year, breakfast is $1.75, and lunch is $3.00. If you would like information about free or reduced price lunch, or an application, please visit the Ridgecrest oce, or the Shoreline School District website.

IMMUNIZATION RECORDS ARE NECESSARY TO ATTEND SCHOOL Washington state law requires that all children up to the age of 21 be fully immunized on or before the rst day of school. Shoreline requires that students must have proof of immunization or an approved Certicate of Exemption by the 20th day of school. If no proof/waiver by the 20th day of school is received, the student may not continue to attend school until documents received. This means the school MUST have on le: ! include a physicians signature for those wishing to exempt their child for medical or philosophical reasons. A proof of membership in a religious group that does not allow a health care practitioner to provide medical treatment to a child is required for those claiming a religious exemption.

Volunteering at Ridgecrest
few hours a week to support our school, we will take it! Many parents volunteer in their childs classroom. We also want you to know that you may volunteer for the school, too. We have many important tasks that need to be done such as laminating, photocopying, and being there for kids. To volunteer, stop by the Ridgecrest oce and complete a volunteer application form. Likewise, if you would like to nd out how to contribute to our school outside of our school hours, contact our Ridgecrest PTA.
